I kept my job all through the pandemic, but that didn't prevent it from being a time of intense anguish and despair. It made me a considerably angrier, more bitter, and more cynical person.

I want revenge. I want those responsible to suffer. I wanted Trump back so that they don't get away with it.

How is any of this effective revenge? If the Flavor-Aid we're being told to drink is to hunker down and eat shit for an untold amount of time, who is really getting punished? You think it's going to impact the upper echelons that have enough squirreled away in various assets that they can cruise through whatever bullshit is coming, or don't you think this is going to fuck over the people who were just barely getting by as is? This will kill a lot of wealth and industry for sure, but the people that will feel the hurt the most are not the ones who had power to organize lockdowns.

If the mentality people have is that, "At least he's doing something," I'll grant them that, yeah, Trump calls out a lot of bullshit. But knowing that something is wrong is not the same as having a competent answer for it. You can say the exact same things about commies. They sure did a great job of acknowledging the problems in Russia, China, Best Korea, etc. Gold star there. And what did they do with that foresight? Their shitty economic fundamentals just accelerated the rot. The Russians are off dying for Putin's vanity land grab. China's lockdowns were extreme and they're probably about to massacre a bunch of their boys over Taiwan. Don't even need to go into how NK, Vietnam, and Cambodia are functional hellholes on Earth.

Nobody is going to spend billions of dollars to rebuild American industry unless they have a good reason to believe that it will pay off in the long term. Trump raising tariffs with no larger plan and no concern for economic reality is not a good reason. It will be far safer for companies to just continue what they're doing and enjoy the higher prices.

Companies will do what they need to do to make profits. They pushed LGBT+ crap because they were getting paid to do so but the very nanosecond that they saw Trump was going to win, suddenly it was "fuck Trannies" because they knew it was going to hurt them if they kept that up.

If there is a profit to be made, they'll just go for it. Imagine pitching the idea of losing a market as big as the US to your bosses, you'd get fired instantly. "Let's just lose a big chunk of our profits guise!" doesn't sound plausible to me.

You're correct. I absolutely buy the idea that China will refuse to concede any ground. I believe this because their leadership believes they are the literal embodiment of heaven. I would also buy the idea that said leadership will try to lie or cheat their way out of an actual issue, fail because they've spent too long practicing face vs. actually figuring out how things work (let alone solutions), and cause a catastrophe on the Chinese homefront. This is the same government who told the rest of the world they're handling covid better than anyone else while footage was constantly leaking out, showing members of the Chinese government welding people into their homes or sending hazmat units armed with suppressed weaponry into apartment complexes.
