Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I feel like the Switch 2 is going to be about as successful as the 3DS. So a decent system but at its best near the end of the systems life so you can enjoy all the positives without as many of the growing pains. My scientific evidence comes from both launching at kinda high prices that made the internet mad, and releasing with a version of the current Street Fighter. No other evidence needed, thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

GR and GL are said to be buttons for animal crossing. Personally they look uncomfortable, so why would anyone use them other than to add macros to competitive games is beyond me (that is, if you're weird enough to play those on switch)

By the way, @FakeAFClausMystery is a furry pedophile who loves cub porn and can't read warning labels. Thought you should know before you engage with him

I don’t care as long as they don’t get in the way. I’m much more concerned about the terrible excuse Nintendo gave for why they still don’t have analog triggers.
Sasaki: From the hardware side, we worked on what we were asked to do. There were a lot of, let’s say, very fussy developers around us who wanted to go this route. That’s why we went the route we did.

Kawamoto: In terms of analog buttons on the shoulders, there are positives, but also negatives. You lose a little bit of instancy when they’re analog. We considered it and decided that instant input would be the better option. That’s why we decided to move forward with this decision.
“A lot of developers specifically demanded that we shouldn’t use analog triggers, also muh 0.03 additional seconds needed to press the trigger down all the way”… yeah, I call bullshit. Especially since Sony and third parties already figured this out by just having a switch on the controller that toggles them between analog and digital.

Oh well, it may not be a big deal as long as they don’t do something stupid like port Gamecube games that were specifically designed around having analog triggers like Mario Sunshine or Luigi’s Mansion- ohhhhhh wait.

Easy option: They won't bother.

Miracle option: They might

Realistic option: There will be issues with the compatibility.
I absolutely hate forced controller updates, from all publishers. Ideally we'd be using 360, PS4 and Switch 1 controllers, with the possible exception of S1 if they really have fixed or mitigated the drift issue.

Feels more like the Gamecube for me right now. Some stellar games, but overall doesn't reach the sales heights that Nintendo was expecting.

They're objectively objectively worse

Are you fucking serious? Even the GameCube controller had those LMAOOOOO.
Classic Nintendo moment, alongside the deformed jelly bean buttons and asymmetric sticks. Turns out you don't actually need fine-tuned pressure-sensitive accuracy to operate a vacuum.

I'd like them for driving games but thats about it. As for reasons not to, GCN style ones are clearly out -too big to fit in a joy-con- but I'd have liked a modern equivalent.

Back paddle buttons are useful for PC gaming if you don't want to use a keyboard for whatever reason, do give a few extra programmable keys. But they don't make a whole lot of sense on consoles because devs aren't really allowed to give them functions that'd give unique actions over normal controllers. I have an Xbox elite controller and use them in games like FFXIV, but on the actual console I just use them as extra inputs for video/screenshot recording. This isn't the N64, I can already reach every button on the controller at a moment's notice
