The last time the global economy was in this much turmoil, The Trump Administration said on March 16th 2020 "14 days to flatten the curve", meaning that if we all just go into lockdown for 2 weeks, it will prevent the worst of an infection spike in the general population. Hence " flattening the curve of infection rates by day"
Now, in that video, when asked about the economic turmoil caused by the tariff, a Trump Administration official said something to the effect of "...in 90 days, we'll have worked through this backlog of countries and you'll see an improvement" , echoing the sentiment from the 2020 situation where if we just deal with some bullshit and pain for a little bit, everything will be all better.
I posted that to reflect on the outcome of that statement and it's truthfulness in 2020 and invite your own conclusions as to if this sentiment shared today by the administration is as trustworthy.
I am making a case neither for or against. Just seemed an interesting parallel.
