General Wrestling Discussion

I watched Dark Side of the Ring with Vader.

I had no idea he was such an asshole to Joe Thurman before the back break. I had heard differently but honestly, fuck Vader. I don't blame HBK and others for not wanting to work with him
Would anyone consider how he was treated in the WWF, karmic justice?

I miss 2019 Moxley
2019 Moxley is a good wrestler who happens to have his time of the month but could cut a captivating promo. Death Riders Mox is a Hulk Hogan Wannabe who made a edgy NWO without changing his look and hiding the AEW Belt in a breifcase. Worse part is I think the belt got destroyed and it'll probably be used as a hardcore title with the other belt that was destroyed.

You could argue that if the Cereal Man did a spot where he force fed you the stuff like the Boogeyman did the worms, it could work as a silly spot, but otherwise its just self-indulgent crap and a waste of perfectly good cereal.
Ooh, I like that idea! Heel Cereal Man shoves Captain Crunch in his opponents mouths to cut up the roof of their mouths. We're selling out MSG with this one!

I have a whole bunch of respect for Mox in that timeframe.

AEW was a shaky prospect when it started. Jericho was on board but he had "fuck you" money already and was basically a WWE midcarder at the time. The Bucks were on board with TK because he offered them EVP jobs (whilst they were still in contact with HHH and HBK which continues to this day) but they essentially had to talk Omega into not signing the "safe" deal with WWE at the time because he knew he was beat to shit. Cody was still in full fuck-you mode when it came to WWE. Hanger and the rest of the "top" early AEW guys were all just indie guys who either didn't get the call from WWE or knew they couldn't make it over there.

Mox walked away from decent money in WWE to maybe be barely used for stupid midcard shit to having to be the face of a new company that had a roster of smarks favourites, a mixed bag of bingo hall indie guys/joshis/luchadores/"good hands" and deathmatch morons.

He's burning a whole lot of this goodwill with whatever the fuck he thinks he's doing at the moment.

Mox is probably threatening to leave if he loses the belt, I think its a combination of that and as you said Tony spite-booking, he's just as bad as 2018/2019 Vince when it comes to not getting the fans
Moxley should either go back to being his 2019 lone wolf self or just leave AEW. When this "Desu Riderz" shit cools down if Moxley is out, his crew might become relevant again. Note the word "might."

I like the time Vader stiffed Stunt Kenshiro while filming the Fist Of The North Star
For a second I thought you were joking about that time he nearly decapitated Ken Shamrock with a forearm strike.

nah, during the filming of the western HnK movie, where he played a character who seemed like the wanted to have Mr Heart but then they found out he cost extra to license so Vader became Generic Big Fat Guy, while filming the fight at one point Vader was working stiff (shockpikachu.png) and knocked out the stuntman

Wish they had any of the Japanese wrestlers or Mark Henry to talk about Vader. Or even DDP who Vader stayed with for awhile. Even Teddy Long, who wasn't really fan of Vader.
Tony Schiavone's thoughts on Vader and the fight with Paul Orndorff:
The part where Kevin Sullivan instructs the others to let Paul go shows how much he knows what Vader would do.
Would anyone consider how he was treated in the WWF, karmic justice?
Nah. Orndorff knocking his clock was enough. WWE was an opportunity of a second chance, Bruce Prichard said in a shoot they felt got Leon White instead of Vader. But he made bad decisions when he could have been better.

If I remember right, Shamrock was legitimately going to rearrange Vader's face after that and had to threaten him to stop that shit or he would. Doing that to prime Shamrock (or Blackman) was not a very wise move. Blackman also hated Vader for being an asshole to him in Japan and was going to legitimately beat the shit out of him too

other way around. ken was still kinda green around the gills and according to him, accidentally broke vader's nose which made vader throw the forearm as a receipt and to ease up. Ken apparently took it in stride and thought the receipt was awesome. i think if vader and ken were given a shit ton of freedom to do what they wanted, or if vader tried to work him the way he works in japan that match would be amazing

Oh no no. I don’t think that’s the case. All the people who talk about him IRL say he’s a nice person and he seems to be from the interviews I’ve seen of him. I think he might genuinely have a bit of autism or some sort of shyness or something. That was the whole issue with the stone cold interview.

I think Mox is just doing as he’s told and riding it out. He said on his wife’s podcast a couple years back that AEW is drama filled and he doesn’t understand it.
I honestly think this Mania 41 feud would be so much better if it was him instead of Phil in there.

I might do one day with my 2 buds that will watch PLEs with me (non-fans but they like it enough and its MY thing type stuff) and then another day do a drinking game in some wrestling discord

Genuinely didn't have much hype for this year but each passing weeks got me itching

There were stories about a miscom IIRC that Stone Cold was supposed to be told that he shouldn't bring up Jon's past on the interview but he did and now Jon's acting like a spoiled brat which frustrated Stone Cold because he didn't know why Jon's acting like that all of a sudden to the point that the interview wrapped up quickly. The way that Jon handled that interview with Stone Cold was just awkward, like just say "sorry, I don't want to talk about that."

I think his shyness/autism was from having a horrible upbringing while he was growing up.
