He left the house as per usual. Window was open, he and one other of our critters have gone for a walk. We've got to know he was killed by dogs (presumably, and I still have to be assured it were dogs) by a random occasion when half of his torso was laying somewhere near local kindergarden and one who have seen it first among us was my brother.
