Feminists don't read, that's it.
Gehrman didn't want to make a tradwife version of his student. He wanted her original self back after she commited suicide. Though it was an unhealthy obsession, face it - Gehrman did not want a tradwife; he wanted the strong, stoic, figher, badass Lady Maria and tried to bring her back using the arcane magic in the game. Didn't he straight-up discard the doll and simply want it to be a sex toy or whatever antique gathering up dust because it JUST WASN'T LADY MARIA, THE ONE HE WANTED SO HE ENDED UP DECIDING TO DRESS THE DOLL IN THE LADY CLOTHES, LET HER DO WHATEVER, AND LEFT HER ALONE?
This is a matter of reading comprehension.
To add up on the topic of Bloodborne, I remember seeing a dyke seethe about a ship as all LGBTQ+ internet coomers would. It was a tweet, but I cannot find it no matter how hard I search so I cannot put a screenshot, but you get the gist.
So, it was about a ship of Bloody Crow of Cainhurst (male) x Lady Maria (female). A super popular headcanon in the community is that Lady Maria is a lesbian for whatever reason, so the nigga I'm talking about was malding the moment she saw someone do fanfic of two 3d models.
I've seen more lesbian shipping of Lady Maria very popular among the artist types in the Bloodborne fandom, and to be honest, it disturbed me. Why? She's the most prominent female boss and she's wearing pants and a coat. "Gasp! Man clothing on woman means butch lesbian!" It felt so stereotypical and I thought these people didn't want a stereotype, if that was really the first thing that entered their heads.
I consulted someone on tumblr, asking where the headcanon may have come from, because I searched every wiki and every source and none of it said Lady Maria had lesbian interests and that someone said maybe it's because she's wearing the black ribbon of a man instead of the red ribbon of a woman (based on game lore). Huh? They cared to look at the fucking ribbon a person is wearing? I imagined the red ribbon on her head and said "But that seems more like a stylistic choice because prominent red would look ugly on her, assuming everyone would care to look. The hidden darker, duller red under her coat is the good red on her scheme." The person I was talking to agreed and said that fans should stop getting mad over a 3d model. The first assumption everyone would make is that she went "fuck it" and wore whatever ribbon she wanted because it's just a ribbon! In fact, the game lore stated Lady Maria didn't like the people with that dress code so she may even be trying to distinguish herself from the individuals she is avoiding.
Why do these people have to make it so difficult?
