Ever since Smash died as an eSport (being relegated to its current status, no longer at Evo, essentially the goal is to be a top player and earn subs/donos, etc.), an already parasocial community somehow turned it up to 11.

It's truly heartbreaking watching this, seeing what the community and its leaders and figureheads did to him. Obviously Hax$ made farfetched claims in his original video but many of them were proven right by the community's utterly nonsensical actions against him. The section where Technicals explains how stupid it is for Hax$ to be banned for his own mental health and make him get a life outside of Melee reminded me that Melee kept Mang0 out of the gangs in Los Angeles (I forgot where he said this, but he did), so imagine how he'd have wound up if he was banned back in the day for being an asshole and getting drunk. Years ago I loved the Smash Bros community, especially Melee; now I just want them to destroy themselves.

Surprise surprise, it was Redditors.

The actual section that was reported is the worst part, it's the group chat discussing the people that manipulated Hax and then had the gall to speak at his funeral.

He's going to reupload the video with some additional censoring and add an additional segment at the beginning of the video to explain the takedown.
