The Amazing Atheist / TJ Kirk / Thomas James Kirk / Terroja Kincaid / The Distressed Watcher - A banana up his ass and hot oil on his cock. Reddit atheist accused of pedophilia.

While learning more about TJ has made me outright despise him, Drunken peasants podcast was just excellent for a couple years there. They're all spergs no doubt and apparently ben is an outright sex pest? A lot of their arguments were retarded which I knew even at the time, they didn't know wtf they were talking about and the drama they got into with people like brette keane was childish, but from 2015 through the end of 2016 the show was great.

I started listening in early 2016 and watched all the backlog. I had just gotten my first job out of college which was a lot of monotonous work that didn't require the "word" part of my brain, so I would leave drunken peasants on my second monitor for noise and to glance at. I'm not even an atheist and was just barely liberal at the time so i disagreed with them on a lot of things but i still listened.

Those guys had excellent chemistry before the drama happened and the vibe of the show was very good. Everyone shitting on TJ, the brothers bickering, paul's tantrums. There was a very nice self awareness about the entire thing and unlike where they are now they didn't take themselves too seriously. They had a good dynamic with their audience as well.

It also came at the perfect time because that 2015/2016 era was right when the lines were starting to blur between real life and the internet. That whole time really fucking disturbed me because I was worried about the implications of it all, the retardation spreading on social media, everyone having cameras, making money on twitch, etc. Having the guys to laugh at it all no doubt helped me get through the dawn of clown world.

If they could have kept the drama under control and not sperged out so hard they could have ridden the podcast wave into huge money.

Any experts feel free to enlighten me but it seems like
TJ: Creep
Ben: Creep
Paul: Sad sack who needs to GTFO the internet and take mental health seriously
Scotty: Actually cool and smart enough to ride his brothers coat tails.

I don't have dates, but I do vaguely recall that for a time a few years back he tried to get away from the Amazing Atheist brand and was simply presenting as TJ Kirk. I am unsure when he did this and unsure when he went back. Based on an earlier comment, it appears to have happened around 2017.
IIRC What happened is that he changed it for some meme reason, and upon attempting to change it back encountered an error message on youtube saying he couldn't have that name. He then went on a rant about how youtube was persecuting him and all atheists. In the comments section of that video which should still be up there were people who changed their usernames to things like niggerfaggotspicslaughter and stuff like that to test the supposed "filter" and they passed through just fine. Persecution complex on display.

This is just talking about the 2017~ name change. Not the into the fray name change. BTW.

EDIT: Heres a video of someone else talking about it. Crying about mass censorship of atheists :story:

I fully expect TJ to stand by everything he has ever said and done because he thinks he can get away with it. He thinks his fans are stupid enough to disregard it or degenerate enough to handwave or make excuses for it.
Back in the day a lot of the people that threw mud at TJ were people like Brett Keane and PZ Meyers who were both lolcows. So it was pretty easy for TJ and co. to just point at how ridiculous that opposition was. He doesn't even have that excuse anymore though.

Same for me, but I was a convinced athiest at the time. All of their debate content was hot trash, the lolcow stuff, the crazy people section, was unparalleled at the time. Same with their stupid ads stuff. I can't go back and watch it without feeling squeemish about some of those guys, freaking degenerates man. And frankly many of their own lolcows like Gman seem like pretty normal nice people. Still lots of good memories though, like raiding Tommy Sotomayor.

Haha I was there for all of the tommy raids, good times man.

The debates were laughable, frankly most political youtubers are absolutely terrible in debates and constantly show how uneducated they are with them, these guys were no exception. I usually skipped the debates.

Crazy people was always a good segment, I loved how all of their intros and thumbnails were made by fans. In a way yes they were just being cheap... but It added to the very guerilla style feel of the entire thing.

What was true and not true about all the degenerate shit? I heard a lot of things but could never seperate truth from the typical reddit sperging. I know TJs masochist shit is true because he admited to it himself, but did ben really get rapey with people or was that bullshit?

I haven't followed DP since around episode 400 or so. Take everything I'm saying with a grain of salt. Apropros Ben, the largest drama I heard of when I was still really in the community had to do with a large controversy over several community managers in discords and the wiki, especially around a person called Animancer (IIRC: Not so sure about all of these names) who was exposed for being and alleged pedophile / sexually weird. And essentially what happened was that Ben ran defense for Animancer and protected him. There were several raids on DP streams making tons of accusations and sometimes during streams of that time even though he wouldn't mention it in the streams themselves you can see his face go pale when he reads the chats. This was during 2018 / 2019 IIRC. Around this time there was a simulataneous drama occuring over "creative differences" between Ben and the other peasants. Ben wanted more of a kayfabe dramacast (lke when Billy "punched" paul and he used makeup to make a fake black eye. LOL), Tj Scotty and Paul wanted something more like what they later ended up creating, the eternally boring Deep Fat Fried. So it's hard to parse everything. I remember we hated Ben at this point. When TJ made his video announcing his departure from the show he mentions something along the lines of "Some people have tried to make out Ben to be the bad guy in this. That's wrong okay!". But that's TJ. And we know how much of shining moral compass he is. All the drama around that time got the old DP Wiki nuked (Which was really funny, RIP.). There are a lot of people who know how everything went down, I have no idea where they can be found now unfortunately. There are a lot of people who had it out to get Ben, and a lot of them were degenerates online themselves. I talked to them personally.

Other than that I'm not up to date. I wish I could give more detail but I've forgotten most of everything that has happened. This is one of those situations where like 90% of relevant information just doesn't exist or is degraded to a point where it's unusable.

You got some of the main framework of the story partially right, though your timeframe for things is off. As you mentioned a lot of the information has been lost to time. The Peasants really started to fall apart towards the end of 2016, and 2017 was marred by a lot of drama. A lot of the drama was centered around their subreddit: the fanbase was growing increasingly critical of the show and its decline in quality. The subreddit, r/drunkenpeasants by the way, was one of the few fan communities associated with them that they had no control over.

While it started off with them just taking shots at the subreddit for being whiny on their episodes or doing things to specifically make the subreddit mad, it eventually grew into a much larger conflict as 2017 went on. Paul was a big epicenter of the drama, he would spend all day fighting with people on the subreddit and literally streaming himself crying as he did readings of all the mean things that subreddit was criticizing him for. From the end of 2016 and early 2017, fans were outright calling for him to be fired from the show because they hated him. TJ himself also had a lot of spergouts on the subreddit during this time, screaming how he was tired of their criticism and how he doesn't care what they think. Meanwhile, this was all occurring during the adpocalypse on YouTube where he was basically demanding everyday for the fans to financially support because of the financial hit on YouTube. It was a bad time for everyone involved.

When the Drunken Peasants eventually did was bring in a moderator named FancyBadger into the subreddit to control and curtail criticism on their behalf. Badger was a moderator involved in some of the other fan communities like the Discord channel and their wiki. For those who don't remember it, the Drunken Peasants wiki started out as regular wiki but eventually became its own website. Badger was an e-tyrant who was willing to do the Peasants bidding, and it caused a lot of drama on the subreddit as he tried asserting his control and clashing with the mods. There was a lot of mod drama as the subreddit fought against the Peasants and Badger trying censor the subreddit. Eventually the Peasants and Badger created a new subreddit called r/OfficialDP to be the new official subreddit. Badger had full control over it and the Peasants now had more ability to censor criticism of themselves. The fan community was now divided into different sectors and there had never been more animosity between the fans and the Peasants.

Around late August and early September of 2017, drama erupted as Badger like all Discord mods was exposed for being a pedophile. I forget exactly what happened, but I believe chat logs were released of him admitting to having a relationship with a fifteen year old. There was actually a lot more in depth stuff revealed, like him being a manipulator who threatened to kill himself if the girl didn't send him nudes. He also admitted to having received nudes from this girl, making him a possessor of child porn.

As you can imagine, things did not go over well as the fans revolted against Badger. Badger would have a meltdown and take both the subreddit and Discord channel offline, as well as making private r/OfficialDP. Basically all the fan communities he was in control were permanently taken away as he came under fire for what he did. r/drunkenpeasants once again became the center of the fan community, and the Peasants were now completely under siege by fans for using this psycho to censor them.

As the Badger revelations were playing out on the subreddit, a girl came onto the subreddit and leveled severe accusations against Ben. This in itself is a whole separate rabbit hole as Ben has been accused of doing some severe stuff. Ben did a lot at the time to censor the accusations against him, and the full revelations of what he allegedly did wouldn't get exposed until later. At the time, the general consensus was that he had just been sleeping around on his wife with some of the fans.

The Peasants would eventually try to make amends with the fan community with what occurred with Badger, but things were permanently damaged for the remainder of 2017. Around the same time this was happening, TJ announced that him, his brother and Paul would be moving back to Louisiana, leaving Ben in Seattle. As far as what exactly led to the following out among the Peasants, nothing has ever been fully proven. Everyone has their own theories, it is evident above all that everyone wasn't getting along and the stress of everything led to a rupture.

The last official episode of the podcast with all four hosts was Episode 414 streamed on December 13, 2017. Episode 415 would not be streamed until February 2, 2018. A week after episode 414, Ben was on vacation and TJ, along with Paul and Scotty, did a special episode called "Plan C" that streamed live on Twitch. That episode would be immediately taken down by Ben and has since been lost to time. During that episode, the hosts covered a Brett Keane video he made talking about the allegations that were made against Ben a few months early. While they apparently didn't say anything bad about Ben, Ben was pissed about them covering the video in the first place since he more than likely did not want any attention being given to what he did.

This was the straw that broke the camel's back. The next morning, TJ released a video saying that the podcast was over and that he was moving on with a new podcast with Paul and Scotty. He blamed his departure on Ben removing the Plan C episode. Fans were initially on TJ's side and were bashing Ben over the ordeal. Things however changed when TJ released a second video going over more details of everything. Fans seemed to think that TJ got the jump on Ben and pulled the plug on DP so Ben couldn't move forward with the show on his own. The drama over the show ending played out for the next month until all issues were resolved and Ben was finally allowed to move forward with DP on his own, which he still is doing to this day despite it being a shell of itself and having no popularity whatsoever.

That is basically the story of how the fans turned on DP and some of the events that led to their breakup. To this day, no one really knows exactly what led to the tension between the hosts. I personally feel that for a longtime Ben hated Paul and wanted him off the show but couldn't do it because TJ stepped in the way. I've also said before that I feel TJ and Paul wanted the Brett Keane drama to end but it was Ben always trying to instigate for views. Add in all the other stress from the show and fan drama you can why things went south for them. As far as what is true and not true about what Ben did is still up for debate, there has obviously been accusations levied against him. What really happened will likely never be proven, but given the quality of the people we are talking about here is not out of the realm that Ben did some heinous stuff.

Drunken Peasants to me stands as another chapter in the YouTube self-destruction playbook. They had it all and they eventually lost it as time went on. For as bad as a human being as Brett Keane is, it does bring an ironic smile to my face that he did end up being the catalyst in their self-destruction. Those four monsters all mocked him relentlessly when they were just as bad of human beings as Brett is. That and they ended up losing it all just like Brett did despite claiming they knew better.

I do remember something with one of ben's guests, billy the fridge's buddy, called "joe" who got shithammered and hagged scotty the entire time. Scotty did get kind of butthurt about it though joe was extremely obnoxious and made the show boring. Also i he remains me of people i knew in college who i wanted to stick in the face. People who sense weakness and just keep prodding and pushing thinking it makes them cool, it's actually one of the scummiest qualities a human being can have.

It is fucking mindblowing how much this comes up. Without the farms i would have never known...

I have always felt like paul is one of those people who simply isn't cut out for the internet. Actually... i think we're all on that spectrum, there's nothing natural about this shit, particularly the way it's used (especially since turd worlders entered the fray) but some people handle it better than others. Paul isn't one of them. He needs to be in a small town community with people he can get to know on a personal level and how they tick. The anonymous approach just doesn't work for somebody with his disposition.
subreddit
I've always hated reddit but i do remember DPs reddit being unbelievably childish, like little girls. Turns out a lot were in high school?!? i was 24 when i found the show in 2016, and it was quickly clear that what I got out of the show was very different than what most fans got out of it. I always liked that there was a self awareness to how retarded the entire thing was (sort of what Kino Casino is doing now) and that they were no better than the people they shit on, but over time they all became self important. I just wanted a thing i could laugh at and be vaguely in the loop of what spergy shit was going on. If a show was cancelled or boring it was no big deal for me because i could just go outside, visit my girlfriend, or go to the bar. I got the sense most of the fanbase literally depended on them for their social interaction as if it was their family.

Drunken Peasants to me stands as another chapter in the YouTube self-destruction playbook.
100% agree, and i do think this show's importance is underrated given how quickly it got memory holed. TJ is high on his own farts when he claims he "created the anti sjw" movement, but he and this show were HUGE players in it and my personal foray out of the blind leftist worship i had in my youth (and no TJ, you did not CAUSE me to leave the left, i was already having problems with the left based on my own real life experience and was going to leave it one way or the other. DP was just one of the things a watched along the way but it would have happened without you so put down the fart glass).

The milo thing was their most noteworthy dip into "mainstream", but i'm more talking about their impact on underground culture. They didn't invent drama wars, flame wars, or this style of streaming, but they were a huge refiner of it.

Anyways thanks for the great write up. This show was no shit my introduction to clown world, before finding it i never knew about any of these degen cultures and streamers online, so i do owe them big time for making me aware of the snake in the grass even if they turned out to be snakes themselves, so I'm always interested when people have info on wtf happenned.

Man i'm feeling nostalgic now.

Thanks for clearing all of that up. Been a while. I think Brett Keane wasn't ever as bad as the peasants tried to paint him in hindsight, but everyone involved with that god forsaken podcast was a cow of some sort lol. Maybe the RV trip was a scam all along? Like father like son...

I remember the discord rumors about Ben cheating with some marines wife and that he tried to fuck Scottys current wife (girlfriend at the time). I don't think the core audience gave a flying fuck about the pedobadger arc.

Following the monetary loss from the apocalypse, Tj probably thought he was the main reason for the shows success (egoistical cannibal faggot) decided to it. Given that how expensive Seattle was compared to the bumfuck swamp they reside in now, in my opinion it was all a monetary play to cut out partners/recurring guests to cut costs. Paul just wanted money so ofcourse he'd join the biggest creator and leave with him.
