Even though Siglemic hasn't given a definitive answer, it's more than likely that he got sick of everything as people just wanted him to play Mario 64. Anytime he streamed and it wasn't Mario 64, his chat complained or asked him when he was going to play Mario 64. Siglemic wasn't able to transition away from the game which made him famous and chose to delete everything as a result.

Maybe MrShasta. He's very openly liberal/furry/etc and tries very hard to be le heckin wholesome, but he comes off to me the same way as BetaEtaDelota does. If you don't know who that is, BED is a furry YouTuber who for the longest time insisted he wasn't totally a furry and his very suspicious affinity for life jackets was just an autistic fixation etc etc etc. Well, a little time passes and Kiwis dug up that he had a personal Twitter account for NSFW stuff where he openly engaged in latex diaper inflation shit and cock vore RP and all that. Also, he definitely had a fetish for life jackets (?????) so you could argue he was even doing EPI shit to the kids who watched his YouTube content.

Mind you, I have ZERO evidence that any of this also applies to MrShasta, but if we all found out one day that he was up to the same exact kinds of shit behind the scenes it would not surprise me in the slightest.

It's not news but I'm pretty sure it wasn't posted on the farms yet, so I'm just dropping this in case someday someone else sees a vid pop up on youtube and then thinks "oh yeah, what happened to Stryder7x?" I found this image of a post from Stryder in a reddit post (archive) and that's the latest info I was able to find. The actual communication from Stryder is dated March 5th, 2021.

Tl;dr:
He (for obvious reasons) rethought his social media presence after the allegations from his ex (I'll let you judge that for yourself, if it's news to you just follow back the posts I'm replying to, they're on that subject and have the allegations and his response).
He has really bad food allergies and anxiety about food stemming from them, and basically has a form of anorexia, he says his max weight was 125. Pandemic gave him more excuses not to deal with it in a healthy way, he implies he's in the middle of a months-long episode as of the message.
He says he doesn't plan to return to youtube or streaming, he needs to prioritize his health; doesn't rule out returning long term.

His youtube and twitch are both inactive as of 2020. Someone in his patreon discord or something like that could probably give more info, but this was the latest update I found. So who knows, I hope he didn't die of malnutrition; hell, he could even have quietly come back under a different name and be streaming to 3 viewers for all I know.
 
Popping in to say that Summer Games Done Quick 2025 apparently started on Sunday and literally no one here gives a shit because all of us forgot about it and nobody here has even chimed in to post funny pictures of the trannies that I am 100% certain have already done their runs after being accepted into the marathon for being genderniggers (and the 32nd best runner at whatever game they're doing).

He's absolutely still around, or at least was back in 2022-2023, when he was helping Chuggaaconroy with his Paper Mario LP.
He's not outright credited, but the fact he has a dedicated "Research help to someone who would like to go uncredited" and that they have collabed before previously, it's not hard to see why it's probably Stryder.

Honestly i think even within the speedrun community itself it's started to not be the all-important mecca it once was. Part of that I think is because every good game and run that you could show off has already been showed off. The only both game and runner that's been around since the beginnings of this whole thing that I recognize is oatsngoats still kicking it with Super Metroid. Beyond that it's a fuckton of new quirky autsimo games that honestly don't make that much sense as speedruns. Balatro is in there on the second-to-last day, and that's basically an RNG simulator, not like there is cool tricks to show off. Plants vs Zombies is also there at 1AM, which yeah, it's a haha quirky game on the up, but is it honestly REALLY a good speedrun?

Doesn't help that most of these people couldn't properly fill dead air if their lives depended on it, I bet you. Half of the runs at least are just gonna be the most awkward people on Planet Earth stumbling just to occasionally say a sentence as they hyperfocus on their game. Them and their couches of commentary bros could at least bother to explain what their new games are that probably have never been at a GDQ before to new watchers, show off the few exploits they do have even if it's not technically the fastest way (it's a marathon being Twitch-streamed, you're presenting to tens of thousands of people, not on the WR grind), but that would require effort and people with actual charisma. GDQ does not have many of those kinds of people. Could probably count them on one hand.

Even when they have the more traditional classic games it's not the people at the top of the leaderboards anymore. The 120 star run in SM64, you'd think that'd be run by Suigi, the best in the game right now, or if not him, maybe Weegee, Cheese, Puncayshun, etc etc. But no! It's someone I'd never heard of by the name of "beeve", who is 15th, two minutes behind the WR. And a 32 year old genderspecial, but I think you could have guessed that without me telling you.

ESA is a much more professional organization in regards to speedrun events, a good chunk of the quackery doesn't make it there, and it's the actual top runners 90% of the time. Would much rather patiently wait for that and see if anything interests me than watch this bi-annual dumpster fire.

Of course I could've guessed that, I made a snide joke about exactly that in the post you quoted -- without even checking the schedule at all -- and it looks like I was absolutely bang-on with the "they didn't get the best or even the second best runner, they got the guy over a dozen ranks down from the top because he's a retard tranny who parrots the right opinions" quip.

I'm just more amused that GDQ is practically 99% transparently astroturfed bullshit now. Not only are the women there fake, so are all of the donations. It's just a big marketing/advertising thing now. How many of the games on the schedule do you think are there because the devs paid to have them included? Or the organizers are intentionally picking out games their friends have worked on to showcase them? There was that "GDQ donation generator" meme thing many years back where you could get the site to spit out the inane shit that people would write in as donations ("Greetings from Germany!") and now with AI in the mix I wholly believe they can just dump their entire archive of donator messages into an LLM and train it on that data to spit out stuff that sounds exactly like it, unironically, and attach messages to the massive sponsorship donations they get from companies that have been broken up into a gorillion $20-50 donations from "real people".

I have no proof of this but I feel like even the niggercattle who consume this kind of slop aren't donating. I've long had the feeling that GDQ was a victim of the bystander effect where tons of people stand around watching the thing but few people actually do donate genuinely because they collectively assume someone else will float it for them. I've posted about this kind of stuff many times in this thread over the years, usually once there's another event running. It seems like GDQ always raises "more money" show after show but I'm hard pressed to find a handful of people who actually give a shit about this dog and pony show in the year of our Lord 202X.

Well, shit. I knew that there'd be an occasional they/them pronoun in the runner's listing or something but I thought other than that it was a reasonable event. Maybe I'm confusing it with the 8-hour SM64 WR attempt sessions that were (are?) a thing, maybe that's GSA instead of ESA? Fuck.

This caught me by surprise because they always hosted their event AFTER the GDQ equivalent. I was actually interested in how it would go considering that the last one was a financial failure, and that the whole event felt like the atendees went to a funeral. Did BigJon finally arrive?
