It established the world led by the United States, which was the only country to come out of it better off than it entered.
The transformation of the US from an isolationist power, into one not only willing, but eager to get mixed up in European blood feuds has got to be the worst blow dealt to the Republic since its founding. It should also be mentioned that US interventionism has been more about maintaining the status quo than altering it to suit US interests. The saving of France, and Britain from defeat at German hands resulted in the Soviet Union. And yet another war with Germany, that neither power could fend off without US support, again. The destruction of the old empires and an end to european colonialism has resulted in decolonization, and the proliferation of communism. Both of which has clearly been a disaster for humanity. The europeans got themselves caught up in a large stupid war, and they should have been left there.

And what did our intervention get the US? What did our anti-empire policies achieve? The creation of Poland only resulted in France, and Britain sitting on their asses when Hitler, and then Stalin invaded in the 30s. The long slog across the Pacific only resulted in giving the Chinese communists the chance to turn the most populous nation on earth into a communist hell hole, and led to the Korean and Vietnam wars. Need I say anything about the creation of Israel has gotten us?

That little fight in France has been the worst mistake this nation has ever made. Every other pointless conflict can trace its origin to that one.

If there are no arrests during Trump's term then he is controlled opposition and designed to let off steam. The next globalist in power will make an example out of people and things will get much much worse.

Not holding my breath for arrests, but at least we'll have a clear sign that it's time to prepare if they don't start happening soon.
I think there may be political considerations that would be disappointing to us if we ever got definitive proof of them, such as not mentioning it all because they don’t believe they could win a prosecution in DC.

I don’t believe at all that Trump is anything like controlled opposition, because he’s so blatantly trying to load a saved state from before we were as fucked as we’ve gotten. And there HAS been an uptick in arrears for shit like corruption, but usually at more local levels of government. Act Blue is officially under investigation, we’re reshoring manufacturing and no, it can’t happen completely overnight but it looks like trump is genuinely trying to accelerate the rate and wants it to actually progress.. we’re wrecking chunks of the bureaucracy, we’re winning court victories clearing the way to deport illegals faster than anyone thought possible and he’s being very aggressive about it..

Like, “controlled opposition” would be, imagine Mitt Romney as president

There's not going to be any arrests. You won't get a single conviction with a DC jury and bozoberg judges that will under no circumstances allow a guilty verdict. In all probability it will be thrown out by said bozobergs before it even gets to the jury. All it does is give energy to the other side and suck up all the attention and energy from what we are trying to accomplish. We saw this playout in the lawfare against Trump where it turned him from a sore loser insurrectionist into a rebel/martyr/hero in the span of 2 years and propelled him to the Presidency. Yes it's not fair or just. And yes the next time they are in power they will use their own DC juries and bozoberg judges to imprison MAGA people. But that's going to happen no matter what. And a few revenge indictments followed by swift dismissals in court or not guilty verdicts by juries won't fix that problem. It will only accelerate it.

I'd rather he spend the next 4 years undermining their power in areas that actually hurt them (money, money money) which he has been doing tremendously, over fighting losing efforts against token democrats that are expendable for the blob anyway. Their freakout over USAID was 1000x more than indicting some sheboon prosectuor as payback for what she tried to do to Trump would be. They don't care about the negress or need her. They need their USAID money to continue as a political party. Spend our political capital on what actually destroys the enemy, not what satisfies internet activists.

Agreed, I'll take Trump burning down clownworld(happening now) over spending the energy and time on pawns.

The thing is we really didn't have a choice. With the advent of nukes, rockets, economic warfare, etc. And rapid rise of communism it was clear in the 1940s that we couldn't continue to depend on the strategy of "use our oceans and armed population to fend off invaders" and remain isolationist.

The USSR had made it pretty clear that they considered our entire way of life to be evil and in need of "cleansing". If we let them sit back and rake in all of europe and asia, they would eventually make more nukes than us and it was only a matter of time. The bretton woods agreement was about national scurity, not economic security. That's part of why our economy isn't all that dependent on the international system outside cheap labor (compared to the rest of the world).

The time to pull back was, as trump has always said, in the 1990s when the USSR fell. The current system had served its purpose, and it wasn't as if we had to completely abandon alliances or trade partners, or necissarily even give up being the world police and keeping maritime law enforced. It's just that the time had come for us to get something tangible out of it. Our incentive to do it before was containing communism, once that threat was gone, we lost any incentive and our doing it became charity and charity on that scale just doesn't last.

Ok, dude, with all due respect, the US never “created” Poland, and Poland never disappeared to the point of requiring whole cloth recreation.

There were a series of partitions and occupations between the late eighteenth and early twentieth centuries, punctuated by constant uprisings. This included the duchy of Warsaw, the grand duchy of warsaw, congress Poland, western Krai, the free state of krakow, etc.

Through most of this period there were still underground governments, governments in exile, etc, and Poland could almost always still field armies. Polish cavalry in Napoleon’s Grande Armee was instrumental to victories from Spain to Austria.

let’s just agree that there was an interregnum before I have to sperg more

Our side could at least try, and if the courts are going to go mask off so be it. The point is there won't be arrests much less trials.

what are we going to prosecute them for anyway?, being incompetent retards?, as much as it would be nice to make that a legally enforceable punishment, that's not going to be passed into law anytime soon.

Unless you want to Trump legal team to start mentioning the deep state or shit like that in the court, that is not going to make any tangible progress.

All evil in the world can be traced back to France.

I think there might be more value in not pursuing any arrests and for Trump to "be the bigger man" in this case.

Let me explain... I realize that's extremely gay, but there's more to winning the country over than just getting the seats of power. I might be in the minority here but I still firmly believe that political positions don't provide ultimate power. The optics game and winning the people over are important. Politicians have friends and family, they go out in public, their children go to school, their family members go to ball games, people implement their policies, work in their security detail, and police officers enforce their laws. We saw how easily the left absolutely rat fucked the right for 20 years by user their bs to wrangle the youth vote and the "cool" factor. Even when Bush and Trump 1 were in power the country didn't feel like it was right wing.

"the mob is rome" as it were. The clintons, obamas, Soros, and all these assholes didn't implement clown world just by having the government, they did it by having the people.

We're in an era where culture is up for grabs for the first time in probably 30 years, and normies have first hand experience with the problems of unchecked leftism. It's not worth it to get all of the keys to power if 55% of the people living in the country think it's run by an evil dictator and the remaining 45% feel they can't speak up. I mentioned in a post yesterday that Trump has an unusual way of showing mercy to people once they're a non threat and that does appeal to something very atavistic. It shows he's the good guy.

That said I don't think it matters much either way because the wind is at our sails. If he doesn't pursue arrests people will see it as admirable, if he does then enough people will probably understand why he did it. It's a win/win.

No, sorry, the First World War was clearly the shifting point between eras. It was the end of world order established by the Congress of Vienna, which lasted a century. It established the world led by the United States, which was the only country to come out of it better off than it entered. The causes of the Second World War are found directly as consequences of the first.

If you want to say that the Second World War was the means by which that era accelerated towards its peak, then I think you'd have a point.
WW1 was the death of Europe and Monarchy. From it 3 systems emerged trying to replace it.

1. communism
2. fascism
3. Liberal democracy

ww2 was the war to destroy fascism, the cold war was to destroy communism, only our system survived but is clearly hollow and on life support, waiting for another to replace it.

And rapid rise of communism it was clear in the 1940s that we couldn't continue to depend on the strategy of "use our oceans and armed population to fend off invaders" and remain isolationist.
We could if we had nipped the communists in the bud. Soviets played their hand by holding on to the territory they "liberated". Their armies were beaten and battered from the war, we had nukes and our armies were already in Europe and Asia surrounding the USSR. All Truman had to do was allow Patton to roll east while MacArthur heads west.

I think the explanation is much simpler than that. The USA wasn't as involved in WWI, but was involved in both major theaters of WWII. Of course we're going to be more interested in something we were not only involved in, but were instrumental in winning. The weapons it was fought with also make it more interesting as WWI devolved into trench warfare as military tactics hadn't quite caught up with technological advances yet. By WWII there were significant advances in armored vehicles, airplanes, naval vessels, and weapons. By the end of the war atomic weapons had been developed and used to devastating effect. WWII is the big Hollywood sequel to the well made budget film that was WWI.

Even at the time, the alien nature of the politics of WWI made it hard to justify to Americans. Wilson tried to frame it as a war for "democracy," the one small problem being that Russia was the least democratic of any major power involved. In fact, Wilson himself expressed confusion and dismay to the UK regarding their alliance with Russia, since to him, it made no sense for democracies to ally with autocracies.

On a personal level, I've been interested in both world wars since I was a preteen, and despite having multiple books at my disposal, I didn't fundamentally grasp what WWI was about until I was in my twenties, as I was finally old enough to understand political systems and conflicts fundamentally different to anything in my own experience in American democracy. At minimum, you need to at least know who the Hohenzollerns, Osmans, Romanovs, Windsors, and Habsburg-Lorraines are and what was going on with their respective dynasties to make sense of the thing. Most Americans don't even know what the Ottoman Empire was at all.
