You say that but even that AI minecraft demo managed to get people to gamify it from its novelty, creating a speedrun to get to the nether. You don't need much of a game for people to play it or enjoy it.

Unless the guy has his own model that he made or has some level of photoshop skills, it's difficult to believe that anyone would pay into a patreon for that.

Its all degen porn, I can see he has a "style" which only means the lazy nigger is using the same prompt and loras for different characters, seems to be inpainting for stuff like extra fingers and broken teeth which are usual in ai but you still see some muddy textures and garbled text around so hes not even retouching his shit

Honestly I'm split on these sorts of posts. It's a 50/50 between 'twitter user is too retarded to understand the concept of a troll' and 'they understand but just want attention'. Like I refuse to believe any person could ever look at anything this guy posts and think it's genuine. The guy is the most obvious ragebait possible. He currently has 39 followers. This post has 494-171-101 c-rt-l; comments shitting on him have 5-10x the likes. Insane that anyone could ever see this and think that arguing against it would be a worthwhile use of their time in any way at all.

See what I mean though? 8 people in that screenshot, apparently only one functional brain though. In all three of these posts that is the only person calling out the obvious bait as bait. I refuse to believe that these people looked at this and thought it was genuine. It's one of the most obvious and low effort trolls going, yet it always gets the most attention. I know that art twitter is normally pretty young and autistic but surely it's not this bad right? Even as a fucking child me and my mates knew that ignoring trolls is the best way to deal with it rather than trying to epically ratio them on twitter dot com, maybe all these kids just watched cool cat and took his advice?

You need to remember that most people in art twitter are Gen Z version of boomers in the sense that they are not only young but they compelled to make a statement to show they are part of the in-group so they think they can't afford to take things light hearted.

It's not that I'm surprised that people are that retarded. I'm surprised that it is almost unanimous. To go through maybe 50 comments on incredibly obvious bait and only one of them to call it as such is genuinely surprising to me. I can understand the thousands of boomers I've seen falling for the fake irl AI images but for a shit load of people who should be more used to internet shit idk I'd expect more from them.

Then again when I was back in school as a kid there were genuinely people my age who had trouble in the final ict test because it asked questions like 'how would you close an application' or 'how do you save a msword document'. It's not even a technology skill issue it's just unfathomably socially unaware though.

11 minutes worth of bitching that this proof of concept exists and that "it's a waste of le energy, money and resources!!!!!" Nevermind that the earliest development of anything will require an immense amount of power and material to get it running. And while this simulation of Quake (along with those simulations of DOOM and Minecraft) doesn't really provide much of any use now, like what Runch above says; imagine if this tech expanded to the real world that simulates everything around you and the material that makes up organisms or nature. Imagine how far this could go should AI simulations keep improving and expanding further.
But nahhhh, this is all a waste of time and resources and clearly Microsoft should just stop developing anything AI Tech related because I guess progress should always look like the final product according to my libshit, AI Derangement Syndrome opinions and if it doesn't, then it'sa complete waste of time <- says the blue muppet faggot.

In the last 60 days, the diaspora* web assets received 11.3 million requests. That equals to 2.19 req/s - which honestly isn’t that much. I mean, it’s more than your average personal blog, but nothing that my infrastructure shouldn’t be able to handle.

However, here’s what’s grinding my gears. Looking at the top user agent statistics, there are the leaders:
and the list goes on like this. Summing up the top UA groups, it looks like my server is doing 70% of all its work for these LLM training bots that don’t to anything except for crawling the internet over and over again.

Oh, and of course, they don’t just crawl a page once and then move on. Oh, no, they come back every 6 hours because lol why not. They also absolutely couldn't care less about robots.txt, because why should they. And the best thing of all: they crawl the stupidest pages possible. Recently, both ChatGPT and Amazon were - at the same time - crawling the entire edit history of the wiki. And I mean that - they indexed every single diff on every page for every change ever made. Frequently with spikes of more than 10req/s. Of course, this made MediaWiki and my database server very unhappy, causing load spikes, and effective downtime/slowness for the human users.

If you try to rate-limit them, they’ll just switch to other IPs all the time. If you try to block them by User Agent string, they’ll just switch to a non-bot UA string (no, really). This is literally a DDoS on the entire internet.

Just for context, here’s how sane bots behave - or, in this case, classic search engine bots:

Anyone that knows anything about Carmack will know that he is a massive autist of the highest order. He broke into his school with Thermite to steal Apple computers when he was 14. There is an exempt in the Masters of Doom book where Carmack took his beloved cat to animal shelter, essentially dooming (pun not intended) her for euthanasia, because she was hindering the performance of his work. Even after he became massively attached to her. He was that autistic, everything is a scheme and everything has to be optimized, and he knew exactly how to get over any obstacle.

After id, he went on to work on Oculus and basically kickstarted VR in gaming. After that, guess what, he founded a startup called Keen Technologies to try and develop an AGI. He was always a massive nerd, always intrigued by machine learning, because it's the next big thing in computing. He wouldn't flip out over "AI stealing his work".
First of all, it wasn't just him, all of id back then worked on making Quake 2. Carmack was only one of the devs. It wasn't "his" per se.
Second, he open sourced id Tech engines up to DOOM 3, so everyone else in the boomer shooter community already "stole his work" by making source ports, and obviously playing with pirated pk3's, since for all the moralfagging they do, they all pirate that shit, and Carmack himself stated on Twitter he doesn't mind people pirating id games.

Of course he was ecstatic to see this tech demo, because it is very impressive and he knows it. Anyone who knows Carmack beyond "he made muh heckin boomer shooter that cracked my egg" would predict that his reaction would be that of approval.

This retard must live in a parallel universe and that's why he fucking quadruples down so hard. That's how disillusioned he is with the reality of what he's seeing. If it was Romero then yeah, he'd probably piss his pants since he gobbles the girldick on the daily, but that schmuck left id after the release of the first Quake and then went on to make Daikatana proving that without Carmack he was nothing, and Carmack was able to hold his ground without Romero.

Romero can only live off of his glory days at id to get asspats on the Internet, and failed to create anything meaningful after that.
Carmack only keeps moving forward, utilizing his skillset to keep innovating, and he doesn't need online good points to do so.

Boomer shooter troons like this faggot don't seem to understand that these two Johns are different people and those differences led to Romero's departure.
