I am at a loss to think of a way not to botch this.

The dossier was compiled via information obtained via unauthorized access, right?

So, obviously, when the dossier gets out, certain questions would be asked (chiefly "where did you get this?")

I don't think there's a "right" way to do what they did. Clearly, there is a extra stupid way though, and Nick managed to employ that method.
Anyone who received it should have called their local police and told them. There was no legit reason for them to receive it in the first place. Nick isn't deepthroat and the dossier aren't the watergate tapes. There is no deeper story behind this other than Nick having a hate boner of Aaron and wanting him destroyed, and a group of retards dumb enough to happily buy into that operation without thinking.

Anyone with half a brain should have realized that a full google dump of someone's private data should never end up in their hands.
But since we know the Dabbleverse is full of halfwits and retards it means there is now a host of people who were dragged into a federal crime without their knowledge who will be all too happy to testify at length against Nick and Melton, who were the ringleaders of this op.

I think this is the lamest alogging attempt I've ever witnessed.

Google has a stake in this as well though AND I think the Feds will take it extra seriously because of banking accounts. Melton said they tracked his donation income, illegally accessing bank accounts is extra spicy. They will totally get hit with wire fraud charges.

What crime would any of the recipients have committed though?

The CFAA covers knowingly transmitting, retaining, or using information obtained through unauthorized access. Directly and knowingly receiving the information from Nick.....and not using the information for journalistic purposes would make any defense based on the first amendment or "journalism" unlikely to be successful.

The government is unlikely to bring such charges of the person isn't engaged in commercial gain with the information. BUT its certainly something that the government can and would use to threaten individuals into cooperation with an investigation.

The biggest danger any of these people face is in terms of what they say to any potential investigators that contact them. IF the FBI is investigating and IF the case is taken seriously, lying to the FBI about material issues is a good way to get a charge.

But again, any charges emerging from this is far from a certainty. But at the same time everyone directly involved in this would be a fool not to be very careful about everything they do and say.

I don't know how someone would conclude from Nick and April's tweet sprees that they were not on something, even if it was alcohol. And this was around the same time. I would guess that substance abuse had a major part in Nick acting so stupid.
I would agree, with the caveat that I am still not convinced that was actually April tweeting on April's account. Some of those tweets were weird as fuck, and read like Nick skinwalking April. That was the first iteration of the bloody bedsheet tale that Nick later brought up again in Melton's chat.

I confess it could also be Nick cajoling her to say stupid shit though. He is very controlling.

The tweet sprees were the last time we heard from April, right?

Wonder if that was the last straw for her parents and caused them to force her off.
Valentine's Day 2025 (interesting) is when her socials went completely dark (deleted) as documented by @Third World Aristocrat in this post. That said, it was a bit of a 'drip, drip' thing. Her Twitter was privated in Jan (? - I need to confirm) and later completely deleted by Valentine's Day. She was pretty quiet throughout Dec.-Jan. on both IG and Twitter.

I was thinking along the lines of a MN Public Records leak where an anonymous account registers here, or uses somewhere without registrations like 4chan, and then posts things in a way where it's not so obvious it came from the Google account.

It's evident to me that Nick wanted his buddies with Internet shows to talk about the things they were being sent. That's why WATP and Dick Masterson were sent it, so they could say "a little birdie told me..." and then operate as Nick's own personal army. If he had posted it on Kiwi Farms without linking it to himself, then everyone could have talked about it on their various shows without feeling like an accessory to Nick's apparent crime.

It's unclear if there was anything that could be posted without alerting Aaron to the Google account being compromised, perhaps they could have leaked the proposals implying that someone at the station had leaked it, but anything else would've had a better chance at succeeding than Nick self-snitching to Elissa Clips because he's a weak-willed bitch. Alas, we'll never know.

Good luck proving that in court.
For Melton it is easy a fuck, he straight up talked himself into a rage on stream so many times about all that great material he has and how Aaron should be very very afraid that it would be released eventually.

Often with Nick calling in or in the chat discussing it, joking about the humiliating details.

It really isn't very hard to prove at all thanks to Melton documenting himself doing it across a few months.

Never mind literally sexually harassing his children.

The botched handling of the "dossier" of information is the single greatest bit of proof of Nick's intellectual deficiencies.

However, Nick can't keep himself from acting like a smug asshole for a single day.
Nick perpetually suffers from 101 IQ Syndrome. He finds that, on average, he is marginally smarter than the people around him. It leads to very incorrect assessments of his own intelligence, and that of the people around him. He simply thinks he is too smart to get caught.

Nick is responsible for his 8 yo daughter being drugged and Our Wife getting passed around. He is not as smart as he thinks he is.

Looks like Nick is using again. He's tweeting incoherently.

Did the felony get dropped as part of the plea deal? I thought he was pleading guilty to felony level possession of an illegal substance (cocaine)

Also he has noticeably fucked up the parts of his brain that are responsible for planning, decision making, problem solving, and impulse control with cocaine and booze.

Nick, we aren't saying you shouldn't joke about committing a crime, we're saying that you clearly committed a crime and pretending it's a joke won't save you from the FBI. You're not as smart as you think you are.

The MIDI tweet is Chris Chan esque, it's wonderful.

When's the first drug test? It'd be funny and weird if Nick literally failed on the first day.

He is. Or at least that was what was agreed to. The two misdemeanors go away in exchange for felony 3rd degree possession of a controlled substance.

Now, technically, the felony will drop off if he successfully completes probation.

IF.

That's gonna be a tall order for Nick though.

If Nick would've posted it all here on KiwiFarms we wouldn't even be having this discussion. There is no difference.

Only because that's never been tested in court. For good reason too, the gov't would lose. There's a reason Glenn Greenwald and every other person who has reported on unauthorized info is still walking among us.

Nick is just doing his "funny" word games. Technically, he won't be CONVICTED of a felony, since the judge will not actually convict him. This is what the "deferred adjudication" means, he will enter a plea of guilty, and the Judge will not actually sentence him, as long as he completes the terms of the probation under the plea agreement. Nick will gloat that Aaron is guilty of crimes, while Nick himself isn't since he isn't actually convicted and sentenced for the crimes he is pleading guilty to.
