No, they were actually all pretty good.
It's just completely outside of DSP's temperament to calmly fake tips while being fake-positive all the time. He could only keep the lid on something like this for two days max until he'd panic. I don't doubt that DSP could fake an odd tip here or there, to reach a goal, but if it really eats into his income he'd cry about poor support 24/7. In fact, we have plenty of examples of this, where he could've faked tips instead of begging incessantly, if that was in his character.
i don't mean to belabor the point but, I agree with you, many here speculated the vest streak was contrived, and then it just died and DSP was evidently sad about it ending.
I don't think it'd be that big of an increase. A lot of the appeal of watching restreams isn't because people are dying to see Phil's gameplay, it's so they can make fun of him in real time. Take that away and the majority of restream viewers would leave. Some would stick around to clip stuff and maybe a few would start trolling in DSP's chat until they get the lean in, but I think most of that crowd would just switch to watching dentractor content and other clips after the fact.
