Its the end of a internet era. No matter how much you want to shit on them for a terrible antiquated UI, there's something charming about it. There was nothing charming about their retarded janny rules they kept implementing. They didn't do anything to stop spam. /pol/ was completely unusable for years after 2017 - I'd assumed the government got it.

I'm not one of those "dead internet" faggots who say it like it's as trendy as as the Backrooms or PCP, but the internet just feels so...boring and sanitized now. It's not about lack of "toxicity" which is still everywhere in abundance, but rather it feels like everything is for everybody and there's no more hardcore niche discussion among the hardcore fans of anything with a self-moderating energy.

I miss the old forums of the internet where people could actually talk about their interests without a bunch of newfag normalniggers shitting up the place. I miss personalized accounts and color no matter how gaudy. I miss game forums like the old League of Legends forums. I hated when they switched to the fast-moving reddit style before deleting the forums altogether for their shitty reddit.

The internet used to be a magical place, now it's just 5 boring websites every day. It's part enshitification, part contraction. The anonymous wild west is over. What we have now is boring vanity projects.

Kiwifarms and a few niche forums I still use are one of the last vestiges of what used to be. Its not looking good out there.
It really is, the internet use to be more individualistic and for the past decade or so it's slowly devolved into centralised collectivism. You had an active forum for just about any niche subject, some of which I use to browse back in the day are still up but sadly dead. Even the original social media platforms like MySpace would let you customise your own profile with CSS, something you never see anymore.

I'm gonna be honest I genuinely do not understand the animosity towards 4chan I've seen in this thread. Jannies being doxxed is funny and the 15 minute counter is retarded, but the site itself and the majority of the userbase is still mostly fucking fine.
because moot is a fucking traitor who sold everyone out to feds and trannies for the faintest whiff of jew pussy

The nothing ever happens in me says nothing will happen but there is no way they can just go back to doing what they did for the last decade right? You cant sweep your entire janitor/mod teams getting doxxed under the rug like they usually do with drama. All the hack did is prove all the conspiracy theories every popular general on any board had a local jannie who dictated the threads and let shitpostings run free, any janitors who wanted to actually improve places were either ignored or left, and they cherry picked threads.
I think something might have happened for once. At least half the staff won't want to be openly associated with the nazi-incel-Trump website. No one would believe you're just there to clean it up (and visibly do an incredibly poor job.) The path of least resistance (and money spent) will likely be taken when it comes to replacing these departing staff.
good morning beutiful i kiss yor pusy.webp

I think this conception mostly comes from newfags going to/b/ and then seeing troll and gooner threads and then conjuring up this insane mental image of what modern 4chan is. It's the same thing that motivated the routine summer /b/ threads of people trying to scare off all the gooners from the board. Those threads were almost always made by newfag teens, and it's the same thing with this conception of 4chan as a BBC worshipping gooner forum. Anywhere else on 4chan, you get actual 4chan, but /b/, as a result of being the most famous board, and the most lax board, has the lowest quality of content.

Also I blame greentext tourists. Fuck you creepswork, brendaniel, mr greentext, etc.
Yeah, /b/ has the reputation and it sucks nowadays, although you get just as many nigger hate threads as the tranny threads. I'm just perplexed with how people here are talking about modern 4chan like it's fucking reddit or something lol. Doesn't line up with reality, it's still pretty good on any major board besides /b/ and /gif/. Dunno about smaller boards, but there have been good threads even on /tv/ and /co/ the last few years. /x/ is always entertaining too. Jannies are the real problem, especially on boards like /gif/ where you genuinely get banned for the mildest slurs.

god i wish i could see who the local /vg/ and especially /owg/ jannies are. /vg/ jannies are despicable for what they've done

I wish something would come around that is like old k, that board was so much fun. Just want a k out type of board. I checked out OperatorChan and it was all trannies as well.

Its the end of a internet era.
I do agree with your post, but I don't like being all doomer(y) about it.
Sure, it's going to get worse for now. The whole streamlining of the Internet for the common man, Indians logging into the Internet in masses for the first time everyday, and governments actively trying to censor it - doesn't boat well, however, if it may bring you some sort of comfort, as long as there are people like us on the Internet, not everything is yet lost. We might still figure it out, and be successful. It might be naive, but I don't like blackpilling.

Also,
