Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

The campaigns to uniquely twist the pit's history and breed have been so horribly successful. Their literal name has the term pit in it, that's not a cute word for 'farm dog' or 'good with children', it means the damned fighting pits. Retrievers retrieve, pointers point, shepherds herd, there are categories for lap dogs, hunting dogs, sight hounds and livestock guardians, everyone knows what they were created for and they never changed except for pet bloodlines that might have weaker instincts. There is even an extinct dog breed that was bred specifically to run wheels for turning roasting meat, and they were reportedly very good at it.
But it's only the pit that somehow started as something benign before mysteriously turning into a monster, except they also somehow don't have fighting instincts despite being created specifically for fighting and baiting. This is a breed that has such a strong disposition for sudden violence that it's not unusual for mothers to maul their own puppies, or for the puppies to start trying to hurt each other before their eyes are even open. It's just another amusing Tuesday to their disgusting breeders.
There are many cool dog breeds that have gone extinct because they became obsolete, the pitbull would not be a great loss. Nobody needs a pit in this day and age even as a novelty.

I'm just going to leave it here because arguing with people who don't understand the breed or it's heritage is a waste of time.

While I agree with a lot of the sentiments in the thread, the dog is dangerous, it probably should be put down as a species. I think the better answer is putting down most, require a registered breeding program, jail time for negligent owners, etc...
But to be honest, with you idiots standing on one side of the argument spouting your nonsense propaganda that clearly shows you know less than half of what you think you do, no one will agree with you, even though I'm closer to your position than I am with these assholes who dress up their dogs like ballerinas and name them Gerlach the destroyer.
What regular people see is one side of the argument that looks like you just want to go around killing people's pets and the other side is people who treat their high maintenance dog like they are golden retrievers, regular people will never agree with you. The old adage if you are what "right" looks like, people would rather be wrong.

Also to the guy who said breeders spend thousands to breed their pits, yeah they spend thousands to find the most slack jawed genetically defective fuck wit of a dog because that's what niggers think pits should look like. It's also clear you don't understand that while these nigger breeders making the most retarded angry dog fighting ass pitbulls still exist, the vast majority of dogs you encounter are just random breeding from dogs getting out because white trash and niggers don't spay or neuter and then eventually these puppies make it to the pound.

The problem is compounded to the point that pitbulls and mixes are the most common dog breed in the US. If you own a dog, good possibility it could have some pitbull in it.

Legitimately, I found this in a random parking lot in town. Since this place is infested with violent niggers and white college women, it’s difficult to determine the race of the owner. The more mixed a dog is, the more it will trend towards the mean. An average 'dog' if you mixed all the dogs in the world together, would come out: black, or black and white, short-haired, with a long muzzle, average build, medium to large size.

I currently own a Great Dane (mostly Dane, but has 1/8 English Mastiff). At 12mos old he was 30" at the shoulder. He's 17mos old now and a hair shy of 32" at the shoulder. Danes stop growing taller for the most part by a year old or so and just start filling out/getting heavier from there. Of course, every Dane is different and grows at it's own rate, but this is typical for the average. If that dog has Dane in it, it isn't very much. It's far too short for it to be a one year old mix leaning more into the Dane.

I’m so tired of pitbulls killing kids.

The state we currently reside in is re-legislating vicious dog laws because currently dogs get TWO FREE KILLS before they’re euthanized, not counting mauling incidents where people don’t die.

The shelters are full of nothing but pit bull mixes, local groups are full of nothing but “lost/stolen pitbull” and “found pitbull” posts, pitbull running loose in neighborhoods to the point where people carry while walking their dogs not for people, but for dogs.

This is so out of control there needs to be action taken.

What did the comments say on his posts about the dog being a problem?

I guess one free kill technically, after the second human death they get euthanized.
But yes.

Don't forget, they have to prove the fault of the owner/dog, too. So technically, they could have an infinite number of kills in certain jurisdictions because a child might have went on the dog's property or something.

He posted about rehoming Kilo (yes) before the baby came, he posted pics of Kilo (there were 3 pitbulls in the house total), and inbred mom’s pictures of the baby and dog match Kilo.
Kilo is the one who nannied the baby to death, they knew he was aggressive, and they still let him have contact with the baby anyways.

Semi familiar with that city and where they live is beyond crime ridden and white trash.
It’s arguably the worst area in Columbus, everyone is addicted to fentanyl and prostitution is rampant on the streets.
They’re 100% standard for that area.
Animal control took all 3 dogs after this incident, haven’t heard whether the parents got them back or not.

They are NOT facing charges in this incident and it’s causing some serious outrage.

It's because what would be major red flag behavior in other dogs is almost always regularly excused away or tolerated in these dogs. Cat or dog killer? Tolerated and excused away. Kid biter? Tolerated and excused away. It's like there is this boiling frog levels of tolerance for what would have gotten dogs in the past euthanized.

Texas man charged after pit bulls fatally maul neighbor — one day after he was accused of separate murder​

A Texas man is facing multiple felony charges after his three pit bulls mauled a neighbor to death — and was slapped with the offenses just one day after he was charged with murder in a separate case.

Marshall Garrett, 38, faces a completely unrelated murder charge on top of three counts of dog attack resulting in the death of his neighbor, Harriette Phillips, last month, KTRK reported.

Phillips, 65, tried to fend off the vicious dogs with a hammer on March 23, before crying out “Help. Help,” as she fell to the ground and was fatally mauled, records obtained by the outlet state.

Hours before Phillips’ death, neighbors had texted Garrett that his dogs were digging on Phillips’ property, to which he replied that he was “about to get it resolved.”
Phillips’ hair and pieces of her clothing were found in the bellies of the pit bulls, according to a criminal complaint obtained by People.

Neighbors who spoke with Houston police said Garrett’s dogs often escaped and acted aggressively, with one neighbor saying she had recently been bitten by one.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office announced on April 9 that Garrett would be charged with three felony counts of attack by dog resulting in death. All three of his dogs were euthanized following the fatal attack.

The charges against Garrett come one day after the DA charged him with murder in a separate incident dating back to October 2024.

Police say Garrett and a female suspect, Latrecia Washington, violently assaulted 69-year-old Alton Martin outside a Family Dollar store in Houston.

The deadly attack reportedly stemmed from a dispute over $140 and Martin later died from his injuries. An autopsy determined his manner of death to be homicide and listed the cause as blunt force trauma.

Garrett, who was out of jail on bond at the time of the fatal dog attack, was back in police custody as of Tuesday.

Reminder that the Argentine Córdoba fighting dog went extinct not just because dog fighting became illegal in Argentina, but because their gameness was elevated to the point they couldn't even mate properly due to males and females preferring to fight to the death than make puppies.
