How do I not get laughed at (too hard) for being a 4chan refugee

Obviously the account creation date will forever brand me and my kin as one but what are some of the big faux pas around here?

For example, necroing. I, being a channer autist have a bunch of niche interests that do have threads here already but are a decade old. Is it more acceptable to revive an old thread or make a new very similar one?

Divulging embarrassing personal information is a great way to avoid being laughed at here. It humanizes you, and lets us know that you are a sympathetic, relatable figure.

"I am a refugee from 4chan" is a good start; other things to talk about include your porn habits, how trans rights are human rights, and what your favorite cartoon shows for teenagers and children are. Different sub-boards have different rules of etiquette (for example, the ChrisChan board loves it when you scream JULLLLAAAYYYY or compare your life to Chris', and the girl boards are always up to debate age of consent laws); some people will say you should lurk before you post in threads and forums you don't frequent much, but where's the fun in that? And of course...
What the hell was keeping you there in the first place? It's been gay cancer AIDS since like 2009
Honestly sunk cost fallacy, the anonymity, and a couple good threads.
Putting it more romantically there really ain't anywhere else like it still around, being able to talk about whatever you want however you want completely divorced from conventional social expectations/consequences, when it's going good it's an aspie's wet dream.

Send me your credit card information.
Also you've got a Homestuck username, you've already failed.
Self Id much

And of course discussing prior accounts you've had on other websites, especially ones related to anime, the furry fandom, or porn, is a great way to become very popular, very quickly.

Welcome! And good luck!
