I've seen more then a dozen really good, professional tier artist from /ic/ art and critique board get run off by deranged lobotomites that would skulk the board 24/7. One of the many reasons why 4chan went down the shitter is because the jannies would let schizophrenics, coomers and shitposters basically take over entire boards.

I think it's interesting that despite all of the rapefugees here (myself included), nobody seems to be upset by this.

The ephemeral nature of image boards helps. Even if they're down for a month and come back with everything wiped, people will just shrug and resume shitposting. Everyone relies on 3rd party archive sites to retain things of dubiously historical value.
