I hate porn more than anything in this world and it's been hard coming to the realization (and feeling forced to accept) that it's here now, it'll be here my whole life, and it's not going away. My grandma lived most of her life without it being a thing (outside of some niche magazines that she probably never came across anyway or knew about with how sheltered she was). Obviously I wish for all porn to somehow vanish off the face of the earth and for it to never exist again, but this post did make me think.

If we accept the reality that we're in (porn-filled, with porn-defenders, who will fight to the death for the coom), then is he right? A lot of the new AI that I've been seeing lately has been terrifyingly realistic. We know CP isn't going to disappear and neither is the demand for it, so is he actually making a good point? Would it be safer if creeps on the dark web just generated nasty AI photos and videos and shared those among each other instead of trafficking real children à la Peter Scully for the coom? Part of the motives for doing such things aren't just perversions, but monetary gain. Some of these abusers make millions off their home videos. That's a pretty big incentive for someone who already has "no limits", has access to children, has no ethics or morals around hurting another person to make money, etc.

But on the other hand, I know how the porn escalation cycle works. Not only are you classically conditioning yourself when you choke your chicken to CP (associating pleasure with lewd imagery of children like how you train a dog with treats) to be aroused by children, but you will get bored of the AI stuff or loli stuff and get curious about children on the nearby playground. Or your stepchild. This is making my stomach churn to think about but if someone has a good, realistic answer ("ban porn!" and "kill all pedos!" unfortunately aren't realistic answers) I'd like to hear it, because this is a real issue in our world and a solution needs to be put forth to do something about the ever-increasing number of children who get abused, trafficked, sexualized, and groomed.
