Dear HCSO AND DEPUTY **,
This Apology Letter is NOT an admission of guilt of any alleged criminal behavior but rather a letter of apology to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office & Deputy ** for my behavior that didn't help the situation that occurred on August 29, 2024.
I would like to apologize to the HCSO and Deputy ** for my role that contributed in a significant conflict. Although my actions were NOT criminal, I should have maintained my composure and not raised my voice at the deputy regardless of the circumstances. For that reason, I was wrong. I was extremely infuriated with the fact that Deputy ** approached my vehicle with his hand clinched around his gun which is the reason why I was yelling and demanding a watch commander.
However, yelling did NOT help the situation and I was wrong for raising my voice.As an Ordained and Licensed preacher of the Gospel, I have an obligation to God to ensure that I maintain a significant level of spiritual maturity and physical restraint when in the mist of tensed conflict. In addition, I have an obligation as a minister of the Gospel to always conduct myself like a role model citizen and my willful decision to let my emotions get the best of me and my decision to use profanity during my altercation with Deputy ** fell short of my obligation to God, my church family, my natural family, myself, and the public and for that, I want to apologize.
This apology letter most certainly does NOT mean I am guilty of any criminal behavior, but this apology letter to the sheriff's office and Deputy ** is an acknowledgement that I should have verbally handled the situation better by using restraint and maturity and waiting to address my concerns in a different setting rather than raise my voice or use profanity on the side of the road. For that reason, I want to apologize to Deputy ** and HCSO.
My sincere apology to Deputy ** does not excuse the fact that I was racially profiled on August 29, 2024, and I am extremely disappointed that Deputy ** and the HCSO has NOT been forthcoming regarding the complete transparent circumstances that led to my arrest and the significant spinal cord injuries that I sustained at the hands of Deputy *. Regardless of what injuries I sustained or how I felt about the incident, I should have responded in a mature manner. Although my actions were NOT criminal under any circumstances, my approach to the situation was not the way to handle the conflict. So again I want to apologize to HCSO and Deputy * for responding in the manner I did.
