All my dad's peers are either dying or have six figures worth of medical debt to fix bad backs/hips/spines/arthritis and these guys are only in their late 50s/early 60s."Just join da trades!11!" being touted as a panacea to the job crisis. If it worked out for you, great, now be honest and tell 'em about the 2-4 years you spent making less than a McDick's wagie, the 50 carcinogens you've inhaled on the job, and the fact that you have to work around 40-something divorced alcoholics that gossip like 13 year old girls.
I'm not even saying don't do it, I'm saying there's a lot of drawbacks no one tells you about, and it's not gonna be a good fit for a lot of people.
You can make good money in the trades but they are incredibly hard on your body.
