Hiroyucky's complete radio silence is just another good reason why 4chan honestly deserves this. It was bad enough when he allowed ads. Good on everyone that left during the adpocalypse before the moronic 15 minute post timer that reset itself. Time is money, gookMoot. 👉⌚️ Hardly any better than Something Awful's paywall or Xwitter.

Hiro also has no presence on the site or charisma whatsoever, the energy of a bastard father who left to go get milk and never came back. Maybe it's just me but I appreciate having a site owner that actually engages in the community he hosts, from insightful posts to the community itself clowning on Null just for fun. 4chan undeniably needs major revisions before it's actually usable again, much less enjoyable.

You can't really just patch a server that's +10 years out of date. It reeks of "I have no clue what to do".
I wouldn't want to be on call to fix that shit, 100% betting they don't have offsite backups, and when you get fucked this hard you can't take shit for granted. You have to expect them to have fully compromised the system. Sans backup you're talking about starting from scratch probably.

Even if they do have backups for everything, the nanosecond they try to update and patch it, half the services are going to shit themselves because entropy is a bitch and in all likelihood no one there understands how the systems work anymore.

Like, to put this into perspective End of Life for FreeBSD 10.1 was in 2016. Considering 10.1 came out in 2014, and 10.2 was mid 2015, it's not unlikely that this was actually what m00t was running 4chan on just before he left.
