General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I can't wait until either DSP starts adding fire to the fuel by laughing at Gura's Graduation, saying that he "will be here to stay forever while those sluts all have their career died" or KoreKore/Keemstar or some other dramatuber starts using Gura's graduation to dig dirt on cover.

But anyways, whatever happened in Hololive rn with 8 BIG talents leaving in a year in a company that had 0 turnover rates for 7 years is suspect and should be put to question. I've argued with tuber-tards on Discord about this and they're like "what's so suprising". 8 talents in 1 year? At this pace they won't have anything left save for like 20 people after three. They have around 60 rn combined I think.

I’ve been saying this for a long long time.

Cover wants those old school type idols.

God forbid if the Yazkuza BlackRock or the UN was behind this.

I hope the info on /vt/ jannies gets posted. I'm genuinely curious as to who moderates that place, that person is even worse than /k/ jannies.

If you DARE to make fun of some streamers you get banned, it can be fairly lighthearted and you still get a banhammer.
If you dare to point out how messed up the board is in a coherent and well structured post that can make people nootice, you get banned.
If you post about IRL people behind vtubers (the streamers themselves have posted this shit before quite freely), you get banned. That rule only exists to protect poor lonely anons from the horror of their waifu being just the same as all other girls, or worse. If that rule didn't exist, people would just post about roommates, get it out of their systems and stop caring. What pisses me off is how this rule only applies to streamers, who pander to sad loners in particular.
The mods are very quick to ban you for pointing out how they defend the girls who pander to lonely schizos ("unicorns"), but if it's a streamer who talks with men, then you can post about her irl stuff and there's a good chance you won't get banned. It's apparently okay to spread shit about streamers who don't conform to incel schizos.

I still remember how some absolute cretins were discussing where Ollie lives and how to harass her IRL, which method to use etc, and the mod banned me for complaining about it while leaving the stalker posts up, just because she associated with men or something (I don't remember, it was one of the earlier incidents). The jannies on /vt/ are biased beyond belief and are absolute turboincels while simping for holos. It's just insane to me, but I've read that this kind of moderation is normal on reddit.

You vastly overestimate how much we care about /vt/. What they do or don't ban you over has nothing to do with us or this thread. It's kind of hilarious that someone from a website that gave birth to the concept of "lurk more faggot" spawned people like you who fail to understand it.

60 Talents is a huge amount.

Honestly though, not surprised.

Covid was still on going in 23 so everyone signed on for 24 and when the work load got way harder and pressure got stacked much more, combined with other life obligations and illness, 24/25 was going to shed loads fast.

I'm pretty sure Mori said at least once she did almost graduate. I forget when she said it/was considering it though. Someone would have to check me on that if they can remember.

Mori's talked about it a few times before it would have been around the time of leangate, UM signing, Gura B&B, and all the dramaniggers on twitter seething at her and calling her racist. She back at that time had considered just graduating but was talked out of it and has since found her balance and a good schedule and better mindset to deal with the background noise. She just hadn't found her groove yet back then and got overwhelmed with the volume of everything going on back then.

The 60 is a current thing, JP and EN branches combined.

Now they have 60 talents (and I assume they have 20 in 3 years), but I expect them ending up losing almost everything save for the newest ones and the specialized idols.

Yup.

And typically people who say it's the "idol direction" are usually not complaining about the specifics of Cover's direction, but the very idea of idols themselves. Those types are the snakes who deserve to be called out.
A significant chunk of the Hololive fanbase doesn't come in via songs, they come in via streaming. It is not at all unusual for them to not care about any of this and be annoyed that dance practice has interrupted their favorite autistic yap girl's streaming schedule.

It’s almost like turning sick introverts into stars and burning them out will make them quit eventually.
Those weird girls in high school. Some of them were ugly, some were kinda pretty but still weird.
God forbid if the Yazkuza BlackRock or the UN was behind this.
IDK about all that but something is fishy.

I got told I was “melting down” because I said Calli has no bars.
These people are here and they have no chill.

Nah, they’ll just replace Talents. As companies do. The question is how long the Talents will stay after joining.

You and I are talking about different things. Nobody has to like a specific thing a talent puts out. But that's not even what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the people who don't watch the talents, specifically hate idols in general and everything to do with the fanbase, and then pretend they were fans pissed at the "new idol direction" going on (which again, is speculation). When in reality, they just hate the concept of idols and are getting off on seeing an idol themed place falter. Those are who I'm talking about.

at the same time when that's "the thing" that the company does it's weird to be bothered by them doing exactly what they say on the tin. Like even if it's not what brought you in if you start watching "the idol company" you kind of just have to accept there's gonna be some idolshit going on at some points and if you genuinely hate that you probably just shouldn't be watching "the idol company"

Again, I think that this sudden wave of graduations will make people think twice about signing on with a company.
Obviously there's gonna be chicks who're gonna sign up no matter what, but I seriously wonder how many auditions/applications are currently being rescinded given recent events.

I don't know how big a chunk it is, but I'm sure you're right. I have zero active interest in any of the music or dancing or concert stuff. I just accept that Cover is going to do it because it's core to their identity, no matter how many individual audience members express disinterest.

As said the thing to keep track of is how long they stay and if it is longer than 2 years.

Just for reference, Nijisanji is still debuting new waves after Selen. Yes, even EN. As the blackest of the black companies which would make black holes blush, who doesn't even guarantee even minor success anymore, still gets a ton of applications somehow. hololive won't have any trouble getting new applicants if desired unless we live in a clown world beyond my wildest comprehension.

We’ll honestly have to wait and see. Losing the face of your company is going to hurt.
It'll be a bit of both good and bad, which I think it's probably tenuous to even imply there's a good side of it but at the same time it can be looked at like this.

A new face will take that place, say Marine or something along those lines, "she's not as big as gura" Marine is on track to overtake Gura in subs this year, soon Holo will once again have "the biggest vtuber active in our company" a second time over.

And whoever takes over as "the face of the company" is likely to be more active and able to manage that popularity (Gura always struggled with her explosive popularity even mentioning again tonight during her announcement how there were times she was unable to eat or keep food down due to the stress her popularity brought on)

Losing "the face of the company" hurts, swapping in a new face, who's more active and engaged in the public eye, is better on the whole than your face being a recluse you have to coax out of her cave because she struggles with the spotlight.

Wait and see for sure but just from the angle of talking about company faces, there are some pros to that changing guard as well.
