Virtual phone number for Google confirmation codes

I asked this question on four different tech forums and got banned every time, so here goes nothing:

I lost access to my Google account a few months ago because their stupid system suddenly decided that it wanted my real phone number. Probably has to something to do with the fact that I use a VPN. I really don't feel like giving American feds my number. Burner phones are not an option in my country because you can't get a SIM card without showing an ID.

Is there any site that where I can receive SMS confirmation codes with a personal account? I can spare a few bucks if necessary. All those free sites don't work for me.

You will need to deassign that phone number afterwards if it's a burner, unless you want your account to be cracked by someone and lose it permanently.

But then you may face this exact problem again when they ask for another number.

I have a couple US numbers on there that receive SMS, including 2FA - not every country supports virtual SMS though and not every country will let you get away with a number without ID, is it a US number you want specifically or is it for another country?

I really don't know. Again, I'm using a VPN, so it probably depends what countries Google favors and it's not like they're going to tell me. I'll give it a shot.
