4chan was sustained by what were basically anime-themed happy hardcore raves at conventions until W.T. Snacks departed, then that collapsed and the anime raves were replaced by furry meetups and other forms of degeneracy. Moot was there for the party at the convention, the rest of it was not what he was interested in

Like I get it. You don't want to doxx yourself but let's be real; unless you're posting illegal shit it straight up doesn't matter and if you're posting illegal shit there are much better places to do it than to 4chinz. Also you really shouldn't be trusting a VPN to provide you much "protection" in the first place.
Disallowing VPN's(and mobile network IP's) is just a blatantly obvious anti-ban evasion measure. It doesn't matter that you can't hold your tongue enough to call someone a faget instead of a nigger-kike-jeet on a blue board and got slapped with a random ban because of it. You being able to ban evade for that means some mentally deranged schizo can just keep ban evading and spamming scat, gore or cp on every board and make the site unusable. These fagets don't "stay in their lane" or stick to containment boards. They go everywhere and it's fucking obnoxious.

hey newfag the timer applies whether you're behind a VPN or not and it kicks in if you go more than 24 hours without posting from the browser with the cookie in it that says you waited the 15 minutes within the last 24 hours. It's shitty and stupid, if I want to post a one-sentence reply to the one general thread I post in I just can't do it unless I leave that tab sitting around for 15 minutes. It's gay, it's shitty, and honestly I don't want to deal with it. There should not have been so many users there that it was even needed. The site should be so incredibly caustic and abrasive that newfags are driven away. But with no real jannies that's just not feasible

I'm first and foremost a farms user now. However I still use whats still usable on 4chan. If you missed 05-08 then that sucks, because it was more fun than anything else the Internet has ever produced.

Literally had to sign up just to get this off my chest, but I'm pretty sure whatever the sharty guy said is completely fake. /tg/ and the like have allowed PDF uploads for fucking ages and there's absolutely no way that someone wouldn't have tried to work with some kind of code injection. Obviously not SQL stuff because it's not the 2000s anymore, but I really find it hard to believe that somehow a guy just now found this exploit. It was probably either basic social engineering or just some disgruntled mod on his way out.

I use a VPN mostly because I don't want MY government and ISP to know what I'm doing on the internet. I'm not disabling it just to post on 4chan. Even if it's an anti-ban evasion measure, that's not my problem. My takeaway is that I'm not welcome there. That goes for every site that makes me jump through hoops just to post. I don't care, man.

You know, you raise a good point, and with the source code, can we test this? because if we CANT replicate it, then yeah we can prove to the whole world thats a lie and make this situation a million times more spicey.
