General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Corporations Are always the anti fun group they always prioritize profit over the well being of their employees .
Everything suggests Holo treats Talents incredibly well.

If they cared about profit so much Gura would not be leaving.
We all know who is the fault for this
Her for needlessly putting pressure on herself while being the sick individual she seems to be.

She worked herself to death in the first few years and unlike Cali did not fix it.

Or just sickly and weak?
Sickly and weak.

Gura seems very susceptible to illness from what her gen mates and her have said.

The time that sticks with me is when Kiara had to stick with her because she was that ill she kept threatening to topple over.

Just because of how wtf it sounded.

There was some multiplayer stream which had both Axel and kson in it a while ago.
Yeah but Holostars have more leeway with collabs it seems. Plus I don't think that was streamed on Axel's channel. The Nijisanji situtation was on the Niji streamer's channel with the reincarnated ex-Niji prominent in the thumbnail. Do you think we'll ever see Dooby or Nimi or whoever on a Hololive thumbnail in a proper collab stream?
Everyone thought that was the whole reason for affiliated status being a thing.
I think we thought it was so they could sell Ame merch and have Amelia still show up in big events maybe. Not so current Hololive members could collab with Dooby.

It would’ve also allowed previous Talent to come back using their old models to stream if they’d wanted to though.

All else aside, the fact they weren't able to negotiate affiliate status with her despite how much money the Gura merch must bring in is baffling to me. It's basically killing off a golden IP and a lose-lose situation for both sides.
There isn’t much they can do if she really doesn’t want the pressure of the character anymore, which seems very clear.

Is the affiliate thing even, well... a thing anymore? I don't think Fauna, Mumei, nor Gura brought it up.
It is probably only brought up as an option whenever annual renewal/review for their contracts come up. Myth debuted in September 2020 and were likely signed on to Hololive proper in August or July of 2020.

My personal take on affiliate is that it was too optimistic for it to de-facto replace graduations. It seems more like an option for talent who cant devote to their regular holo jobs due to outside circimstances.
Ame's personal life started going awful in the months leading up to her graduation, and she hasnt recovered as Dooby, Chloe had health issues that were seemingly less severe than Mumei.
Fauna was the odd one out so you could very realistically speculate it was due to the company giga fucking up, my take is that it could've been related to her cat that died soon after, but thats pure speculation

Affiliate/graduate decision probably comes down to merch. Chloe had a lot of merch due to release after her exit and probably had a nice % worked out so a permanent break hurts both her and cover.

What about Shion, did she mention it at all? I wonder if it was a pilot program they quietly nixed.

Shion has been checked out of Holo for longer than Gura due to mental health issues, she seemingly just wanted a clean break, she was on intermittent hiatuses before it became a meme for Gura afaik

Other experiences is that any mentions of ac1dreignz or ohnocturnal on a past selen/dokibird thread would get immediate bans and people like to joke on that site that no anti-mori posts or thread exists because they get taken down immediately. I am assuming that maybe one of the janitors or mods running /vt/ are chubby chasers.
This can be argued against, given that /ag/ - Architect General (which is basically just a Mint general) is purged on sight.

My money is on Moona departing within this year too. Muslim family will demand a child soon.

Cover is the biggest company in the game, and formerly the best. 0% chance that anyone who leaves will join Phase or VShojo
2 years ago, you're right. Now, I think a lot has changed, and not just with Cover/Phase's standing in the industry. If a Holo girl is sticking with Holo to be part of the Holo brand, and that "prestige," then yeah, they would never move to Phase. But if they are with Cover primarily for logistics, planning and financial project support, that's a different equation.

With Phase being privately held, adding local JP staff, as well as expanding NA operations, and having consistently demonstrated a willingness to support and invest in their talents who are low 3-views, for years, without tales of foot-tapping and pressure to grow leaking, I could see how it could now become an attractive option for a Holo girl with experience under her belt, Holo bucks in the bank, and a desire to work her own priorities.
