Nice, thanks. god even the naming convention suck.
But /www/4chan.org might be an NFS no? by naming it seems very uncommon to keep it to the local fs considering they might have more than 1 node. even a junior SysAdmin would pick up on this (but then again as you said in earlier posts, these are extremely lazy nigger so who knows)

These are the same niggers that left a PDF vulnerability open, I wouldn't put it past them lol

is there any word as for when it will come back

So honest question, will the site ever be restored?
Probably not for awhile. Apparently I think a staff member said in IRC it would take 14 days or something to get the site back up? That's all I've heard and I'm not even sure how legit that all is.

But if I had to guess most of the delay is probably them having to rewrite some code to prevent the same exploit from being used a second time.

The issue is for how long the site will be down and how expensive it will be to fix. Will gookmoot want to go through with it or will he just wash his hands of it? He's clearly not that interested in running the website. It was just a form of passive income for him.
Honestly, considering the fact that he has people willing to mod for free (the most thankless job), I could imagine someone autistic and/or masochistic enough to re-code the site for free.

I can't imagine the cost vastly outweighs the amount he was making from ad revenue/traffic/whatever, though. There isn't any issues involving data recovery or anything like that, it's just that the source code leaked so exploits are easier to find now.

fuck i didn't expect to be spending another day here but since 4chan is still down is there any word as for when it will come back
also i think all of you guys doom posting about it are off the mark i bet the site will be fine
Just put this shit up again, Christ, might start doing something sensible with my time instead of wasting it by browsing /v/ on a loop.
If 4chan is gonna' come back up, it isn't going to be because some wizard coders fixed everything. It's literally just going to be if Gookmoot cares enough to get it all spinning up again. And no one really knows that, so that's why it's all up in the air.

LMAO, Sky news talking about 4chan and the Sharty like they are the Russian Mafia!

"What we're seeing looks like a classic case of cybercriminals turning on each other - a digital turf war," Graeme Stewart, head of public sector at Check Point, told Sky News."This isn't new. Just as organised crime groups fight for ownership, power, and control in the real world, online gangs splinter, clash, and compete for status and influence."
It's exploding vans and curtain dogs all over again.

I wouldn’t call it doomposting, to point out that the site’s running on deprecated PHP is just reality

The shartynigger who hacked, surprisingly, isn't interested in leaking any personal info that isn't directly related to jannies. So 4chan Pass users are probably fine.
Venerable shartautist, big respect, I bet he is the oldfag /qa/ type and no the selfloathing mutant type that inhabits the sharty thesedays.

I know 4chan recently started this email verification system, and also set a deadline for when the price of gold doubled so potentially never before did 4chan have more personal user info than when this hack happened, so I assumed the shartautist was holding back this hit for a perfect alignment of events like that.

Also, i knew a guy who hosted a minor image board that was a splinter from a different minor board because the place started autofiltering the nigger word, which pissed off everyone.
Eventually after few years worth of shit posts, politisperging had been accumulated by few dedicated actual mental patients, the place started getting spammed with darknet weapons market links, cp links and "totally genuine" discord invites, the owner shut the place down for a week.
He had banned VPNs for a while but that didnt stop the spam lessened but it was still coming.

After a week he put it back online and showed some of the IP logs, now if i recall correctly, the darknet CP links were coming from IPs that by simple googling could be linked to an NSA office.

Ive seen quite a few posts online about how there seems to be a dedicated effort to shit up and harass altchans to drive the audience "elsewhere". Especially any altchans that allow "extreme" political views.

Like fuck, even Josh was getting fucked with hard when he was hosting 9chan for a while, but the people who spammed CP there were mostly trannies and other pedophile vermin and insane people who have a thread on here and hate that they have a thread.
I can believe that. The feds want people in their honeypots and nowhere else. They'll ruin any upstart site that ruins their glow ops. Kinda goes with the trend as well of the Internet getting smaller

I really hope chink Moot just decides to give up and close the board for good.

I bought a few feraljak-themed Glock switches off the sharty one time, my homeboy Froot can hook you up.

7 fucking mods for /ck/, where were they that one time a thread with some guys dick as the OP was left on the catalog for what felt like weeks? And wow, I'm not surprised /m/ has only two mods (might as well be zero), no wonder a few shitposters have easily taken over the catalog there with their low quality daily spam.
A few months back there was a tranny posting on /ck/, people were asking him to post selfies and he obliged. He essentially had his own personal thread where he attention whored and it was not only off topic but disgusting. Literally none of it was about food or cooking, just about how he's trooning out and wants to know what he "should eat to be more feminine". I reported it and the mods did nothing, but of course they can delete any posts containing lemon pigs during the holidays.

Ideally an anonymous board moderates itself. So some fucking kike troon posting blacked shit gets his thread spammed with gore in turn or anons hijack some off topic garbage with on topic discussion, making the kike troon seethe. You could apply global ips to every poster and make them easily ignorable for everybody, nothing frustrates shitposters more than being ignored. Rangebanning everybody outside of white countries is a necessity of course, except maybe an /int/ zoo with flags where you can laugh at dumb shitskins who will never be white.
Jannies can fuck off with their petty bans, nobody gives a fuck about lame ass rules that are ultimately just used to harass anons and hinder actual organic posting. Jannies and mods arent there to "moderate" "the community" but to make sure the admin doesnt get v& over trannies posting ´p.
Plenty of ways to make an anonymous imageboard work, its actually jannies and rulefags who ruin the concept.
going further on this, it was hillarious to me when they rolled out the first test on /biz/ for the wait timer or email. everyone migrated to /bant/ and the smg threads there was a blast...BUT! see, /bant/ had flags, and mane, the meme was true, it was all europoors calling each other jeets. lol. like, there were zero jeets.
so, im really thinking it was really just jews doing the meme flag garbage posts on /pol/ and a lot of (warranted) european paranoia. i mean, we all saw jeet flags on /pol/, but not to level everyone says anyway.

just my 2 cents as a half blind observer. doesnt make me right in the least.

when superior open-source imageboard software already exists (e.g., vichan).
They should use this as a wake up call and dump that ancient heap of software in the trash, vichan and many other imageboard solutions are superior to Yotsuba. Forking an open source imageboard and tweaking it to behave like Yotsuba is probably the best course of action at this point.
