Dead by Daylight and other Asymmetric Slasher Games - Discuss the games and the autistic/entitled communities around them

Someone please explain to me how campy (hah!) slasher horror movie game became a festival of asshole players, insufferable devs, and extremely shoehorned 24/7 wokism.
It had asshole players and insufferable devs from the beginning. Just look at Mathieu "play civilization" Cote and of course Almo. The only reason this game is so succesful is because it is designed to make you so mad at it's dogshit RNG mechanics (mainly maps) you want to keep gambling for a chance to win against the other side. Of course, with the devs being canadian you just know they have to push this bullshit into the game.
 
Perfectly matches my reaction to this bullshit. What's the point of this? If you open the gate the moment last gen is done it takes only two minutes for full timer to run out.
Supposedly there's some thing survivors can do where they can get you permanently stuck carrying them, which can trap you in-game past the ten minutes. Why do this instead of just fixing that, small indie dev please understand. I really don't get the point of not just letting you surrender right when EGC activates. If you're certain you're not gonna be able to get anything else done, and the survivors are already spamming notifications at the exit, what is the point of still being there? Those two minutes are just gonna be spent AFK, while the survivors teabag thin air, because you're out of your mind if you expect me to come over and amuse the faggots.

I have been playing since 2016 and I don't remember a single instance of me being held hostage for 10 mins. And if it will happen one day there's always a free DC per day. I think they're just making random shit up to appear impartial.

Because survivors won't be able to feel the power trip of gloating at the safety of gates. Even if you go afk they will think "haha he's afraid to come to us, let's waste his time". That's it. People will give you various excuses and will call you many names, but that's all it comes down to. The only legitimate reason would be EGC quests, but the killer bots exist to solve this issue as seen in 2v8.

That part's something I don't really care about, I usually keep the chat hidden anyway. The only right way to interact with the animals of the DBD community is to not do so at all.

Why the fuck aren't they letting you leave the hook before they unhook?
Don't you know? After hooking a survivor you have to walk to the furthermost corner of the map and ignore anyone and anything you see on the way.

I personally dislike when games tend to add too many characters. Reminds me of Moba slop.
Is this a problem just for me? There must be another way of adding variety into games without adding 100+ characters in the roster.
I also decided to quit rainbow siege when Ubislop started adding too much shit. At that point, your fps/asymmetric game starts turning into a fuckin mobalike,
where everyone has oddly specific abilities. I prefer when people have fewer tools and abilities but develop an interesting attack strategy.
God I fuckin' hate mobas, moba players should be rounded up in concentration camps.

It's not like you're going to see more than 4 of survivors and 1 killer unless it's 2v8 and it turns into an entire dress up party.
Licenses are what keeps the game going and people love seeing a new character. You sound like the only person to complain about this.
Also if this game kept it's theme to being purely teenagers/regular people/people with no fighting experience running away from a big guy with a chainsaw then I suppose that it'd fit more to the entire theme of a slasher movie. Still, we are far gone from the game being just that and now we are getting Trevor Belmont running from Kaneki from tokyo ghoul.

It's dogshit in any game, not just mobas. The devs need to keep squeezing the player base for $$$ and avoid the game dropping to 0 players because there hasn't been a new content update for longer than 6 weeks. Kids can't play most modern online games without a carrot on the stick because the base gameplay is so dogshit/unbalanced/low skill.

In DBD it would be a positive in theory, but in reality all killers with interesting mechanics get dumbed down to appease the lazy retards that can't even read the power description.

Freddy on release was very interesting despite being bad. You can't see him at all unless you fall asleep? That's cool. Now he simply has a projectile and a teleport lol.
