There's discussions in some places considering whether it might be worth it to try and build alt-chans to service former 4chan communities, but I don't know of anyone who's trying to outright replace the whole site.

Almost all of them will crash and burn within a few days max. CSAM spam or other forms of abuse are things I feel like only the most deranged and autistic site owners can handle without snapping and burning everything down. It WILL happen, just look at how many times the sharty got raided with it. I don't believe 4chan had enough nerds with both the knowledge and patience to effectively run their own imageboard for very long.

I'd personally rather drag my ballbag across broken glass than spend any time on the sharty, but I have to hand it to them. They're the only altchan I know of that's had any real staying power without averaging less than 2 posts per hour. A cohesive site culture helps with this and I think this is where other altchans fail. What's the point in running off to another altchan if it's just the same 20 guys spread across a handful of boards?
