He's openly negative about his looks in the same way a teenage girl on social media uploads a selfie all dolled up and goes "omg I'm like... soooo ugly and nerdy! #nofilter" or whatever hoping to fish for 100 people to tell her she's, in fact, not ugly.

Also whenever he would create himself in a character creator his idea of a joke is to turn the weight slider up to max and look at chat because the comedy gold is he's intentionally making himself look ugly before he goes back and puts the sliders to a good looking version.

It's the Yasnooza effect. For some reason he insists on playing theses games and claims he loves them all the while falling asleep in every cut scenes and not engaging with the gameplay.

You can extend that to every game genre. Modern Phil just refuses to get immersed into the story or to learn anything about the gameplay.
Instead he just go clown mode for the first stream and then proceeds to get handhold by chat for the next streams. (Best current example is Minecraft)

When it comes to the Yasnooza games it's because a year ago he convinced himself that he (ree) was the one who was singlehandedly behind the series' revival overseas 9 years ago when he played Yasnooza 4. That's why he refuses to wagequit the games despite him "normalizing wagequitting" a year ago. Just ignore the fact that his entire playthrough doesn't have the views that the first video alone in Super Best Friends Play's playthrough has. Same with his Yasnooza 0 playthrough compared to Super Best Friends Play's playthrough of it. But since he "outlasted" SBFP I guess he thinks he can claim stolen valor on their accomplishments.

If you want to see even more how delusional his statement is, this translated playthrough of Kenzan, which is the series' first JP-only spinoff that has still never been localized, has more views than all of his shitty Yasnooza playthroughs and it's been uploaded 3 years before he even touched the series. You don't exactly have to do backflips to disprove his delusions of grandeur.

Listen, I am from the land of corn, wheat, and a field of Khet's. Visiting my folks has way way less to do than Phil ever does. So that was already astonishing to hear him say. More so because I am still spoiled for birthdays and christmasses. Not,you know, thousands. And a personal little punchline to me. My folks are moving, and so I have been telling a friend I will have a reason to visit them. Instead of being an insufferable cunt and saying my parents now get visited becaise I have a reason to visit them.

He prototyped the balloning up Khet underwent. I mean in the earlier pictures from the FGB he looks rather skinny. Onlyafter Fastfood and booze did he balloon up. Panda reigned it in and now Khet eats the majority. Though he still looks bloated while he has chicken legs

Even if he wasn't necessarily "ugly", he's always been odd looking and has this uncanny valley thing going on where something just looks off with him even if you can't quite put your finger on it. Just the shape of his head and facial features, it looks kind of weird.

This is spot on. There was some rant he went on ages ago about how he has nothing against gay people but he's so super straight he can't even tell if another man is handsome or not.

He goes on to say he didn't even think he was good looking when he was younger despite being buff and tan and having robust hair and everyone telling him he was so handsome.

The point of the story was that DSP was so both so straight and so good looking it created a logical paradox. That is not a story a low confidence ugly person tells.
