bottomline is, in America this wouldn't happen if you claimed the technically true assessment that the stress of a lolsuit brought by Billy may have been a factor in Apollo's compounding emotional stresses that led him to his actions

But EZScape and Viper were friends of Karl's, not Billy. Karl needs it to be Billy's fault so that it doesn't have to be his fault, we know from this result that Karl certainly wouldn't pay for damages done to Apollo if the shoe was on the other foot.
