It's his only defence. He has to paint a picture of brainless drones trudging to and from their workplace like automatons, completely blind to their apparent enslavement. He can't stand to think about the value in getting rewarded for doing work you enjoy and find important. Of course his dystopian fantasy is easy for a simple mind to conjure up, especially when coupled with someone who has no conception of work ethic, or enjoyment from work. If Autphag had experienced the pride in accomplishing something, creating something of value, working with a team, being part of something bigger then he might have a different opinion on the matter.

But even beyond paid employment, Autphag doesn't even partake in any type of work or service paid or otherwise. He doesn't even do activities in a team for hobby or sport. I've personally spent much of my time doing volunteer work, or working on projects that don't provide immediate monetary compensation. I do it because being part of something, following to completion is immensely rewarding to me. Being able to look and say "I helped create that" is satisfying. You all understand what I mean, you "get it". Autphag is incapable of that.

So people like he and Negi will only ever know how it feels to be sponges; to leech of the work of others, to consume and never create. They're incapable of doing something that doesn't immediately gratify them or their desires. And the irony is he thinks a totalitarian regime like North Korea would somehow find him valuable. No Autphag, you're a drain in resources regardless of whatever country you're leeching from. You're literally a waste.
