I believe everyone's persistence has a limit. I believe that Warthog just gave up trying to make Spoony care.

Or she finally tumbled down the icy stairs out front again this winter, and froze to death being unable to stand up not due to injury but just due to being fat.I believe everyone's persistence has a limit. I believe that Warthog just gave up trying to make Spoony care.
No, not even close to amateur wrestler.Wasn't she an amateur wrestler? Maybe she had a match with Jim Sterling and he fucked up one of his moves as usual and paralysed her.
Of all sad words of tongue or pen...She CLAIMED to ASPIRE to be a wrestler so that Spoony would find her interesting.
They've made indirect references, which is all Noah deserves. He basically dismantled some of Spoonys complaints. Now that Majuular's series on Ultima has reached the two big dogs in the franchise its so apparent that no one is ever going back to watching Spoony's old vids on the subject except for era specific nostalgia reasons. I can't help but wonder if Spoony has heard of this (far superior) series and is sour about it.
That being said, if these get to 9 and dont make an indirect reference to those old videos I will be kind of disappointed I admit.
What always got under my skin was how he spoke like we were a tribe of drooling morons, too thick to pick up the controller ourselves and catch him bullshitting in real time. They've made indirect references, which is all Noah deserves. He basically dismantled some of Spoonys complaints.
Yeah I never played, or really ever heard of any of the Ultima games until the Spoony retrospectives. Once they were all on sale on GOG I picked them up and ran through them in order. You can tell as the games got longer that he just kind of started bullshitting his way through. I don't even think he used gameplay that he himself captured. He's lucky Garriott was on his Avatar grift at the time and felt like using Spoony to get some additional suckers, I mean backers, for that project. What always got under my skin was how he spoke like we were a tribe of drooling morons, too thick to pick up the controller ourselves and catch him bullshitting in real time.
This actually makes me even more interested in the upcoming Underworld II video, since Majuular's take will probably be nuanced and Spoony's on that particular game is infamous "WAAAAAH I WAS KILLED BY RATS" or whatever it was, just endlessly bitching about one thing for like half an hour.Yeah I never played, or really ever heard of any of the Ultima games until the Spoony retrospectives. I used to think Rachel had a legitimate interest in wrestling because she talked about John Cena and Roman Reigns. Turns out their accounts just followed her back on Twitter (possibly even via automated process) and that was enough for her to develop a parasocial obsession with both. No, not even close to amateur wrestler.

Her wrestling interest was soley based on the fact that spoony likes wrestling, there was no legitimately interest there whatsoever.
I doubt she has ever even watched a wrestling match. She knows nothing except the stuff she found out through Spoony. She just mimiced his opinions on the stuff.
And considering she could not even take a bus ride or shower without tripping and injuring herself...its probably for the best she never tries it.
I remember I was actually hesitant to watch those because my first preconception was "ignorant internet reviewer shitting on a classic gaming franchise." A friend assured me he was actually a fan though. I still love his retrospective.Yeah I never played, or really ever heard of any of the Ultima games until the Spoony retrospectives.
I don't watch all of the Majuular videos, but he goes into the development history and business side at the beginning of each which is fun. Especially considering the first game and how Richard had to basically invent the wheel as a like 17 year old. Pretty insane.I remember I was actually hesitant to watch those because my first preconception was "ignorant internet reviewer shitting on a classic gaming franchise." I have not seen the Majuular one, notthing against Majuular but I just don't see a point watching retrospectives when I can just play the damn games and form conclusions. Spoony I was in the right headspace at the time and more inclined to watch than to play so it was "right place, right time" for me.
EDIT: Incidentally Spoony admitted upfront he didn't record a lot of the footage himself, and he credits the actual source.
Elzair's gaming footage is explicitly credited in the videos.I don't even think he used gameplay that he himself captured.
If I liked the game a lot I'm interested in someone else's take on it. Majuular suffer from being too long and padding out the runtime with a letsplay of the game filled with channelawesomeesque "jokes" but they contain not that well known background lore about the development process and developers themselves, they're worth watching for that alone.I just don't see a point watching retrospectives when I can just play the damn games and form conclusions.
