I'm not sure whether the following constitutes a defense of Yaba or an offense against common sense, but here goes:
First, I haven't listened to GG's stream from yesterday, other than the clip about Shanny. I went digging through Yaba's recent streams.
To be clear, she did not claim that Shanny was not abusive.
Rather, (I think) her point was that Chantal did not consider the abuse an issue until Chantal was mad at her (which would be consistent with previous Chantal relationships, like Kathy/manicunt and "Salty" Shannon). Per Yaba, Chantal is using the talking point as a "gotcha."
Had Yaba stopped there, I would be on board with her.
(And this would be a broader issue in Gorl World -- this habit of retroactive offense. Why was it okay for Samantha to e-beg for $400 in car repairs when it wasn't okay for Samantha to e-beg for gap-bridging? Why was it okay for Samantha to ask for court transcript money but not okay for Belinda to ask for eyeglass money? Why is it okay to discuss Smee's/Mandi's/Belinda's/OWL's/Ron's parenting but not Yaba's?)
Unfortunately, Yaba also believes that discussing child abuse targets/harasses the victims of abuse... somehow. Which, unfortunately, speaks to the notion that what was done to them was shameful and shifts the burden of the crime from the criminal to the victim.
Is Chantal the one to speak to the issue? No. But Yaba seems to think it's an off-the-table subject, unless she initiates it (see Clara/"the kid," GG and every youth in America, etc.)
At the rate she's going, I won't be a bit surprised if she does end up outright defending Shanny, as a "gotcha" to her enemies. She's just not (quite) there yet.
(Also, please correct any misunderstandings on my part -- I didn't find the clip GG was using; I pulled from Yaba's follow-up-tribute-to-Gary stream).
