I think I've commented on this before, but going over the most recent legal doc reminded me of how funny it is that Patty Tomlinson, internet tough guy extraordinaire, had to have his wife call the FBI because of the stalkerchilds.

For the first few times maybe, but this happened dozens of times and the cops saw Niki in several previous calls and she was always completely fine.

Patrick handled it poorly too, but the cops certainly didn't earn any accolades by treating every single call to a known Swatting location as if it were the first one.

I enjoy Patrick's L's as much as the next guy, but the MPD managed to look even more unreasonable than Fatty in this whole sordid saga.

It does seem like it is one officer (rather than the entirety of the MPD being incompetent) that is the point of contention. Lyndon, I think it is. He seems to be at the center of the most notable incidents.

The whole 'lying by omission' thing probably isn't going to sit well with a jury or a judge. Was a bench trial at all possible in this scenario or (if it went to trial) was it going to go to jury no matter what?
