Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

Honestly I have no idea what they could do with these two Schoolhouse Rock/Friz Freleng rip-offs outside of more PSA content, which they already did for free. Just because the fujos latched on to them doesn't mean there's merit to getting these two their own miniseries that you already can't do on YouTube for free. And besides, who the fuck even is Jellybox? What were they even before the strikes started? Who even is their intended audience? What do they have going for them besides PSA slop? Why don't they want to use YouTube for their animations?

It's sus and may be ripe for drama in the near future.

They’ve done literally nothing of note. Nothing of theirs has ever made it to TV, let alone film, it’s all ads and pilots which weren’t picked up.

Lmao animation hasn't affected anyone's politics since WWII. Modern animators truly are the most delusional, privileged, bratty children they network themselves out to be. :story:
Most of them really remind you of those kids who were in theater or in the high school manga club, don't they/them?

Okay feel free to call me retarded but why are they talking about politics? Like I honestly thought this would be some educational shit about industry practices or even help upcoming animators/cartoonist like man

This has got to be the most astroturfed queer bait I've seen in awhile.
The level of brain rot on display here is unforgivable. What kind of advanced level yaoi porn sickness do you have to have reached to look at things that look like THIS and get horny?! Ffs does the Monopoly Man get you wet?

High level executives of major entertainment companies thought these people were financial risks worth taking. Previously successful animation studios obliterated themselves by letting people like this make public-facing decisions. They really thought that it didn’t matter, that everything ran on autopilot.

I can’t even laugh at their failures, because I think about the cost of it all. How many Ralph Bakshi cartoons could we have had if there was a diversified, non-consolidated marketplace for content? How many Williams Street things could have been made before Martin Croker and George Lowe died? Imagine if Bill Plympton movies could have gotten proper releases.

I’ll take my hats, please. Fuck these fujo scum and their enablers for burning the industry to the ground

Well, some of these fujo-dodos should lead more productive lives by being slave labours instead of thinking about lady-men kissing. And not with food, but steel, industry, etc. Or maybe something that would involve hard fucking work so they would whine about "unfairness".

I'm watching The Amazing World of Gumball a lot with my kid and I'm not ashamed to say I think I'm enjoying it more than him (he also really likes it). Of course I can't explain to him why the false address "420 Grove Street" is funny, nor the parts where they go to the cyber police to help backtrace someone, but it's surreal and hilarious to see jokes aimed at my generation and dated niches, not to mention fucking /b/ references. Is this how my dad felt laughing at all those mature jokes in the Simpsons while I kept wondering "what was so funny about that?"

I'm also a little concerned that Jessi Slaughter lore is now canonised in a renowned Cartoon Network show, but I'm also almost a decade late so what the fuck do I know. Great show in any case.

The animated trailer for Izzzyzzz's super quirky slice of life pilot's out. Can't discern why but it feels so godawfully similar to a couple of other pilots, or well, animations generally. What is it trying to emulate? The old 2000s animations? Old YouTube animations? A certain style? I can't discern. Knowing how popular this creator is, I'm not surprised if Wastelandia will gain a huge following like with Kiana Khansmith's pilot. I can smell the $50 Makeship plushies in production already.

There's also an official description of the show, "Wastelandia is a slice of life comedy series which follows neurotic dropout Zoe, ambitious art student Alice, and terminally online retail worker Moth as they navigate their early twenties and all the weirdness that comes with becoming an adult."

Huh, a terminally online retail worker character... where have I seen such a character before...

Either way it's mega gay.
