On a smaller note, Cody "interviews" "Toby Fox", but it's more like an attempt at a hitpiece and Cody manages to somehow present himself as a soyjak despite creating a strawman of Toby. This sounds more like a cry for help caked in viscous envy. We get it Cody, you desperately want to be an artist and a game dev hired by Nintendo, if not a director who gets to watch Nintendo make your games for you. Just like with the Gabe "interview", "Toby" inexplicably dies, most likely as a a result of not praising Nintendo enough for his success.

Been replaying Pikmin 4 again. It's something I've been meaning to talk about this for a while, so long to the point it became topical again.
Now nobody gives a shit what I think about some random video game, so how does this relate to Harman Smith? I'll sum it up as quick as I can.
It's a bigger issue that spans across his most recently hated 3 Nintendo games.

Metroid Prime 4
and Paper Mario TTYD.

---The Paper Mario Story---
Paper Mario Sticker Star, Color Splash, and Origami King all release over the last decade. They're boring dogshit and nobody likes them. Origami King fights for its life and managed to have 5% enjoyable content but still nobody gives a shit. Harman MUST like these games because big maring is on the cover of it. All he has read online over the last decade is "these new games fucking suck make a game like paper mario 1 and 2 again". Through comments like this he has grown a lot of contempt for Paper Mario TTYD and the people who enjoy it. TTYD is used as a weapon to ATTACK the new SUPERIOR Nintendo products and he just can't real with that. So of course when Nintendo said "ya ur right lol" and gave the people what they want Harman had a year long panic attack. See his reaction here! Despite being a hater he played the entire game on stream (not a short game mind you) because deep down he knew he was having a lot of fun. All this rage exploded x10 when Mario & Luigi Brothership came out and the game was just so fucking boring nobody besides him even bothered to finish it. TTYD was once again getting praise while the NEW Nintendo product was getting called bad for being bad. The Brothership situation mind melted him so bad he's still making videos about it to this very day.

RetroStudios develops the Metroid Prime Trilogy. They're Fantastic games. Prime 3 leaves a little bit to be desired because it's a Wii game and that is kind of just how it goes but still great. RetroStudios also develops the new Donkey Kong Country Duology. Phenomenal games as well. But UHOH there's a problem here! To the shock of nobody Alien Horror shootgame and Cartoon platform game doesn't have a 100% overlap in audience, so a fairly time minority of people say "I wish retro would stop making these baby games and go back to Metroid Prime". This for reasons I can't even begin to guess, shakes Harman to his absolute core (he STILL mentions the Cranky Kong game awards situation 12 years after the fact). Metroid Prime is now a series that belongs to the enemy, the Pretendos. Don't have a source for this one but he even hated the GameCube games, and it took until Metroid Prime Remastered for him to kneel and say "yeah this is pretty good actually" (I reckon this is because Prime Remastered almost makes the switch look like its capable of making a modern video game so he needs that ball in his court). Only annoying faggots like that pesky Arlo care about Metroid Prime so he has to keep his guard up on this game. You'll notice he doesn't have any actual criticism of Prime 4 yet. The most he can muster is "what? Samus has new abilities? HUH????". It's a real weak opinion even for him, which says a lot. Also RetroStudios is American and Harman hates whities so that has a lot to do with it. Him defending DKCR and DKCTF is probably a big internal struggle for him because of this.

Well Pikmin used to be basically the only thing we ever agreed on. Pikmin 1 is a masterpiece, Pikmin 2 is fucking awful, and Pikmin 3 phenomenal. Two of the best games around and one of the worst. Pikmin 4 is very much Pikmin 2-2, and you'll just have to trust me when I say it removes most of the bad from that game and adds a ton of good, I'm not here to review. Harman of course is incapable of understanding nuance as a concept and has opted to call the entire game shit because of some of these surface level similarities. So what's the big deal, some fat retard online has a different opinion than me? well no that happens every day. With Harman I can't help but wonder how it runs deeper. Once again it's because Pikmin 4 is popular with the wrong people. The Pretendos. People like Arlo and TheBitBlock and whoever else love Pikmin and want more of it. Harman hates these people and hates when they get what they want.

Fire Emblem Engage - (Harman defends)
-Not the worst FE (that'd be 3H) but there is so much stupid shit in this game I don't even know where to begin. Take my word for it for now. Harman played on Normal Casual mode because he wanted to smile at the Nintendo logo and not actually interact with the game on a serious level. He recently tried Classic Hard on stream and quit the first time a character died and hasn't booted the game up since.
Bayonetta Origins - (Harman defends)
- Overpriced spinoff game coming hot off the heels of the very controversial Bayo3. No wonder there's a lot of mixed discussion about this game. Just kidding. Literally nobody has thought about this. Harman hates that fact.
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp - (Harman defends)
- Fucking horrible. Aggressively terrible studio Wayforward intentionally kills what little hope this once great series had. Game was getting hate for obvious reasons so of course Harman goes to bat for it.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - (Harman defends)
- A mid tier recycling job of an alright game. I enjoy TOTK because I didn't pay for it. Charging $70 for a BOTW patch is fucking crazy. Harman managed to play this game for about 100 hours and only managed to collect 34 out of 1000+ korok seeds. I don't know how to properly convey how insane this is. He put 100 hours into an exploration game and managed to not explore. This genuinely needs to be studied.
Pikmin 4 - (Harman hates)
- Fun
Not perfect but just oozing with personality and has so much content packed into it I'm almost surprised they didn't try to charge $70 for this. Oatchi changed the world. This and Dread are the two best games on the Switch. Harman hates it because ???
Super Mario Brothers Wonder - (Harman defends)
- Pretty ok but receives a fair amount of criticism for being too much gimmicky bullshit and not enough actual video game. It's a new 2D mario so Harman must act as a shield.
Super Mario RPG - (Harman defends)*
- Harman used to hate this game because squeenix made it, but after playing it on stream and being unable to hide the fact he is having fun, he really had no choice to kneel to it on pure instinct. If he could wave a wand and make this game worse he probably would for some weird reason.

As a fellow scientist I find this behavior quite fascinating. If TOTK was universally praised, would he suddenly hate it? I kind of suspect so. I said it earlier but I do seriously think he's incapable of understanding nuance. Thing good, thing bad. People can see 100 shades of gray, Harman can probably see about 15.

Metroid Prime 4 FAILED To Impress! Nintendo Fans FAIL To Understand How Huge Tomodachi LIfe Is Now!
Well to add on to the previous post, about Metroid Prime 4 Harman tries to double down on the needless hatred for a series he can't make up his mind if he likes or not. Metroid Prime 3 was amazing to him, but now 4 will be awful. But once now he is trying to lift up the fact people are excited for the new Tomodachi Life over it.
Let's ignore the fact that Metroid Prime 4 still only has a 2025 release date, let's ignore the fact we already knew that Metroid Prime was coming out, whilst Tomodachi Life was a surprise reveal especially as it is the first game in 10 years from that "series".
But oh no let's claim that Retro Studios are past it, from 2 whole trailers and yet the Tomodachi Life trailer shows a farting Mii and awful slow down so naturally that game will be fantastic right?
TL is a series that is also no better then an idle mobile game. For the uneducated, Tomo released on the 3DS where you made Mii's that lived in an apartment block, and minus making some things like meme music videos. All you did in the game, was wait for the Mii to have a reaction, click on it and watch it play out. Then wait around until they do something else, maybe click on another one to see something fravilous happen. For some reason this game connected with a lot of people and many were asking for a sequel for ages (it has been 10 years as I already stated), and yet Nintendo has a Mobile division and yet instead of making the obvious choice of a game, with Tomo. They just flushed out Pokemon, Mario, Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing. With various levels of success, as AC, Dr Mario, MK tour and Super Mario Run are basicly free limited version now. Which once again proves that Nintendo doesn't really listen to their fans, but magically after 10 year they finally decide to make a new one after the magic wore off years ago, which isn't anything new as proven with games like New Pokemon Snap, a game that came out 20 years too late.
As for the previous post I agree that he aggressively defends the most medicore Nintendo games, as proven with his defence of games like Metroid Other M, Federation Force, Starfox Zero and Devil's Third. And we know he only hates on Pikmin 4 and PMTTYD because of Arlo and Bitblock, especially Arlo after all he likes those evil "Fromslop" games like Elden Ring.
I disagree on a small few things. But it is a preference choice, 3 Houses is far from the worst FE game, we have had dating sim 2012 Awakening, Fates, Gaiden, Shadow Dragon (their remakes too) and Binding Blade. But what makes me smile is Harman couldn't even beat the game without playing on the easiest difficulty and with the mode added in for people who are too scared to play a FE game properly. Aka no permadeath, aka the way it was meant to be played. And yet Harman is very quick to comment that "PC gamers are the most casual gamers ever" when he plays ON CASUAL MODE!
I also doubt Harman will ever critise TOTK, but actually maybe he will. After all when the next "BEST EVER ZELDA GAME" comes out, he will start moaning again about people prefering the older games. Like he always does, guess TOTK days are numbered.
Also I noticed a comment I left earlier, when one guy was saying Harman was the worst thing to happen to the gaming community and one of his drones defended him, because he isn't "impressed with Metroid so far and he thinks Pikmin 4 was dissapointing" I put down that doesn't stop him being a fanboy, as he constantly attacks the other communities. But magically my reply was deleted, guess I hurt Harman's fee fees. Oh Harman as I know you lurk on here. Let me go back on the Engage thing, you claim everyone else is a casual gamer, yet you can't even beat Engage past easy mode/casual. Well I beat it on Maddening on Classic, and I also play on PC too. Fromsoftware Has Bent The Knee To Nintendo
And rather predictable Harman is making stupid claims now about Elden Ring coming to the Switch 2, as well as the new FromSoft game coming to Switch 2 next year.
Normally I would do a summary, but after watching the video myself, I honestly feel like I've killed every braincell in my head. But I will give a much smaller summary.
Harman is now claiming that Fromsoft came to Nintendo wanting their new games on the Switch 2 because they are the "leaders" in the gaming community.
He also claims that Elden Ring was just a fad, and it's sales were meger and miniscule, yet if you actually look at the sales figures Elden Ring sold 28.6 mil which is more then TOTK, and both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Sword and Shield. The biggest IP in the world got outdone by Elden Ring....TWICE!
He thinks Tomodachi Life will outsell Elden Ring.
And well there is a lot more dumb crap, like how this is the beginning of the end for Fromsoft, because now they are coming to the Switch 2 (though funnily enough he calls it the Switch more, which we know for a fact ER isn't coming to the OG Switch).
More about how the PC master race is dying, because without 3rd party games and PS and Xbox games they have nothing.
But the main kicker is one he says Nintendo is bringing down physical games like it is a good thing. As well as how Nintendo is destroying 3rd party devs. Lacking the intellegence that actual Nintendo fans have been wanting more 3rd party games because, we need more then just Nintendo games over and over again. And the fact the direct that Nintendo "won" (Almost like it was their direct or something), had way more 3rd party games revealed in it then the first party ones.

And rather predictable Harman is making stupid claims now about Elden Ring coming to the Switch 2, as well as the new FromSoft game coming to Switch 2 next year.
Normally I would do a summary, but after watching the video myself, I honestly feel like I've killed every braincell in my head. But I will give a much smaller summary.
Harman is now claiming that Fromsoft came to Nintendo wanting their new games on the Switch 2 because they are the "leaders" in the gaming community.
He also claims that Elden Ring was just a fad, and it's sales were meger and miniscule, yet if you actually look at the sales figures Elden Ring sold 28.6 mil which is more then TOTK, and both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Sword and Shield. The biggest IP in the world got outdone by Elden Ring....TWICE!
He thinks Tomodachi Life will outsell Elden Ring.
And well there is a lot more dumb crap, like how this is the beginning of the end for Fromsoft, because now they are coming to the Switch 2 (though funnily enough he calls it the Switch more, which we know for a fact ER isn't coming to the OG Switch).
More about how the PC master race is dying, because without 3rd party games and PS and Xbox games they have nothing.
But the main kicker is one he says Nintendo is bringing down physical games like it is a good thing. As well as how Nintendo is destroying 3rd party devs. Lacking the intellegence that actual Nintendo fans have been wanting more 3rd party games because, we need more then just Nintendo games over and over again. And the fact the direct that Nintendo "won" (Almost like it was their direct or something), had way more 3rd party games revealed in it then the first party ones.

Cody bragging about physical dying and third party devs being "destroyed" makes you wonder how much of his bitterness could stem from wanting to become a game developer, either generally or specifically a first party Nintendo developer, but lacked the knowledge and competence necessary or was bullied out of attempting to fulfill that dream. He reminds me of those guys who believe that being genetically and ethnically native Japanese is a requirement for good voice acting. Perhaps he bought into similar bullshit too hard to think he could ever have a chance if he applied himself, even for the indie scene, hence his gloating over third party being less successful or failing to survive on Nintendo platforms. I wonder if even in his hypothetical dreams, he'd allow himself to actually be perceived as being "as good as" or "even better than Nintendo." as a creator of entertainment. It's certainly enough to inspire confidence that his support for AI undermining artists is because he can't draw for shit or contribute as an artist to some video game or become a mangaka.
Ironically for Cody, it's people like him who're most affected by Nintendo's kikery. We already well know and understand that his purchasing power comes not from his income, but his frugality. It's generally respectable, but I highly doubt he pays much, if at all, to live where he lives, not just in location but with his parents, and it can be assumed that he at most pays for his car insurance and gas, the latter of which being rather low, due to being very close to where he works and wherever he goes for any outside activities. The only time he doesn't skimp out on money is when it comes to media consumption and likely food consumption, if me catching him ordering Huel is any indication. He may or may not have an active membeship with Anytime Fitness, but we do know it's likely he spent just enough to be allowed in and record himself talking about Concord to himself instead of focusing on gains. Anyways, I'm distracting myself, so I'll just get to the meat of my point: If Cody has room to poorshame other people, ti';s only because he spends so little on evertything else and has too few financial obligations preventing him from shopping for video games like it's his birthday and Christmas every day. This is, or was compounded by the fact that Nitnendo, up until recently, could be arguably considered the budget console gamer's choice. With the Switch 2's base price, 80-90 dollar costs for games, 50 dollar camera, paid online subscription, additional subscription costs for things like playing older games, charging people for performance boosts for the Switch 2 version of any Switch 1 original titles, and requiring an active internet connection as physical copies may include only game keys that authorize downloads and play for said downloaded games, it's very likely that Cody will be silent when it comes to discussing his own experiences with his own game collection.

Cody, while everyone can appreciate someone trying to earnestly and sincerely create, your writing skills are very questionable at best and accidental satire against the very things you love at worst. While prose can be anything, there is no style, no sense of structure or development as a creative or feeling of verbal articulation in any language whatsoever especially when what people call your "Harmanisms" aren't based on any unique phrasing or wordplay but characteristic repetitiveness and heavy reliance on 4chan lingo, especially "cope/seethe".. Have you ever considered how different your fiction writing is from the material you read? While it's not necessary to take courses in writing, and it's easy to just overthink on how your writing will look and sound to people, it feels like everything you've published is a first draft that doesn't even have an automated spellcheck pass applied. What exactly are you calling the "skills" you "developed"? We know nobody outside this thread and the occasional youtuber mocking you is willing or interested in engaging with you whatsoever in any way about your novels, so how do you know what works and doesn't work? If you're afraid of opening up enough to discuss working on fiction writing, I doubt anyone's going to bite you for extending a hand. After all, you're mostly hated on for your bench your brain cells to rant about Nintendo and Not-Nintendo.
If you wanted to be a developer, now's the easiest time to do so. You can just learn to do shit for free right now, and there exist plenty of free tools. Despite your supposed knowhow of video games, it's clear you do not have the ability yet to properly discriminate between Unreal and Unity or MS Paint and Photoshop, so it wouldn't matter what you use so long as using anything at all is progress. Go learn to program or make art, or convince someone who can do either that your writing is good enough to collaborate with you, if you're capable of actually being pleasant enough to work with without relying on a mutual obsession for Nintendo. If anything, the one thing holding you back is the fact that there probably exists an Inner Cody underneath your increasingly bare scalp who may not allow you to be an exception to your own arbitrary, nonsensical criticisms. "How DARE you not be a native-born Japanese person who is simultaneously working at Nintendo! Everything really is childish about him. I'd like to see him test his ego debating youtubers or other people again, but he knows he's too wrong and a coward to actually debate anyone outside of a text box.
This would best describe what he is as a person: sad and spiteful. A man too ashamed to admit what he is, and attacks everyone that resembles his silhouette. The air in the house feels cold, It always was damp but today it was a little too cold for his liking. When coming to his couch for the only comfort he could find, he draws nearer at the yellow light bulb. It's old, it always leaves a dirty look in the house, it's...warm. There was this urge pulling towards him. It wasn't burning hot, it didn't sent a shiver coursing through him, it was faint. It felt gentle as took a step, something he hasn't felt forever ago. His muscles eased when observing this glow of the natural hue. That unimpressed look on his face slowly evened out, it became neutral, calm, a face of contempt. This was...it was...too distracting. He came back to the couch to setup his recorder. When he got done with his raging argument with the shadows, he sat there, on his couch that night, in darkness. He couldn't see the light bulb, but he knew it was there. The somber touch reached as far as to the headrest of the furniture, radiating a vibrancy to the walls and ceiling. He knew it was there, he knew he rejected it. As the moon floated above what stands awake and bothered, Cody found the shadows close in. That dark corner made him cold, he knew this as well. But, he couldn't describe it, but it was like it was almost freezing after that hour. He hated it, he wanted out of it. He could come to the other side but no, this is where he stays. Life as he knows, is always taking what he has into the darkness. All that happiness, all that might, sucked out of the chest. He must venture, he must reclaim. But most certainly, he is getting rid of that light.

I want to know how hard he's going to backpedal on his "emulation is illegal" stance when it has been confirmed that Switch 2's backwards compatibility with its predecessor is achieved through emulation.

I don't get the whole emulation should be illegal thing, there's only so many ways you can charge people to play the NES Mario Bros. when the whole game can be played on a browser. Sure, i can understand games on sale that need income for employees that worked on it, but people that don't grasp at the concept of "Games that don't sell anymore don't give the company money" are just kinda pathetic. I remembered talking to some chatters and Harman about getting a copy of a physical Earthbound game reasonably, and even he knows that they are expensive. If you know the games are unattainable, then why should I care a scalper is trying to make a profit off of me for a game that was $50 back then?

He's not ever going to acknowledge it. Cody will talk about emulation only in the context of PC gamers emulating console exclusives. Nothing is coercing him to actually address the fact that Nintendo technically does use emulation, especially when in truth his issue isn't the concept of emulation itself but people being able to enjoy Nintendo products on their own terms instead of Nintendo's. Emulation as a word is easily interchangeable with anything else, and the actual details of emulation are too much for him to do ad-libbed commentary about. Why learn to make a comepelling argument when you can instead learn to be selective with your engagement in the first place? IT'S ALSO WHY HE NEVER RESPONDS TO ANYONE MAKING FUN OF HIM ABOUT THE LACK OF ATTENTION HIS NOVELS GET.
The logic is that at least on a subconscious level, as spite-oriented people obsessed with presenting others with a fake consensus and narrative, your inability to purchase and play the same products as they do is a positive part of their own experience as consumers and Nintendo fans, even if it means actively investing in the continued awareness of your budget. People who take longer to buy Nintendo products no matter the circumstances are to be seen as people who *refuse* to give Nintendo money.
