There's theories, sure, but those events are important and shouldn't be handwaved away just because professional exaggerators like Alex Jones say stupid things tha make rational people roll their eyes.
It's a tactic called blackwashing, the opposite of whitewashing a topic/subject. A primary example is flat earth theory which undermines any criticism of NASA'S budget, SpaceX fraud, science grants for boondoggles like quantum computers and particle colliders, etc. Another example is the reptilian theory which undermines any criticism of Jewish nepotism and global banking, think tanks, NGOs, corporate lobbyists, etc and their powermongering. Yet another example is the use of the National Enquirer, which loaded its pages with nonsensical junk in order to bury certain inconvenient ideas (such as the possibility that just because the news told you a celebrity/politician died, they are actually dead); all those Elvis and Tupac sightings make light of the possibility that JFK faked his assassination (or McKinley, or Lincoln, or George Wallace's attempt, Ronald Reagan's attempt, Trump's attempt, etc).

Edit: And duh, the most obvious one of all: Alex Jones and his personality blackwashes anyone pointing out industrial waste products in our water, air, and soil as a crazy person. His lolsuit, which was staged, fake, and gay, is also an attempt to make anyone who criticizes hoaxes pulled off by the DHS/CIA and crisis actors (mass shootings, terrorist bombings) seem like insensitive lunatics, as well as create a chilling effect on free speech.

I don't want to go through 1200 pages, who are the jannies of /mu/?

Yeah, that lawsuit seemed like complete bullshit. I've never followed AJ, but was it "officially" just about slander? He made statements that couldn't be confirmed and they insulted the memories of the victims, therefore he had to pay 700 trillion to the families? I do get that it was done to shut him up and discourage "disinformation" because the mainstream media's monopoly on truth can't be questioned.

Hello Farmers I am a sad man say whatever you want about me. I just want pw back.
Seth Rollins is a faggot. Watching modern wrestling is gayer than sucking your own brother's dick. Bring back real wrestling, not gay vanilla midget jumping over coconut niggers slop.

A bigger issue is that one of his reporters was knocking on the family's doors harassing them, and a lot of people were calling them up accusing them of being not real, and stuff.

1. He lost the first jury trial with a default judgment of $49.5 million, but a default judgment is entered by a judge not jury.
2. The second trial, televised, required him to simultaneously shoot video for his show in Texas while also going to court in Connecticut nearly every day
3. His judge basically said he guilty during the trial, which would be an easy mistrial; nobody reacted to the judge's comments, juror or attorney
4. Jones' attorney Norm Pattis was on video with his pants around his ankles saying nigger at the same time as the first trial, which Jones lost by $50m; he later sent the plaintiff's attorneys Jones' private emails. Wouldn't he have fired him afterwards?
5. Jones filed for bankruptcy early except he used fake, empty business fronts, and the judge didn't care or notice somehow
6. Both trials, the jury was only there to determine damages while the judge decided by default, so the jury never decided he was guilty
7. Jones never used the First Amendment as an argument
8. During trial, Jones would comment on it nearly every day online which would've lead to a gag order and sequestered jury
9. Jim Fetzer's similar case was a summary judgment without jury, something guaranteed by the Wisconsin state constitution
10. Jones never called any witnesses and presented basically no evidence of Sandy Hook being fake

At 1:51:40 Jones admits his family is full of intelligence agents, his maternal grandfather developed defense weapons, his uncle was involved in Iran Contra. The whole trial was fake and filmed in a studio with actors, top to bottom.
