I'm certain many people are now completely soured on him, because some people still had some hope he would come back to his senses
The general consensus I see around Ian now from people who aren't as tapped into this drama or his nonsense is that "Ian and H3 are both washed up internet celebrities and this is all just petty drama". Which is pretty true. The problem is the memes are usually Celtics Shaq vs Nets Kevin Garnett (2 basketball players who used to be very good but were washed up and terrible on those teams) when the proper comparison for Ian is Kobe Bryant after the helicopter crash.
In all seriousness, though, most people just forgot Ian existed after they grew out of watching his content and they now just view him as another internet celebrity rapidly fading from all relevance. He’s like Leafy, the difference being that Leafy keeps to himself now and only pops out every so often to remind people that he’s fat (and I would not have sex with him), and that he got rich off of crypto.
There is a very good reason for that. Ian and Anissa (a lot of what I say here applies just as, if not more to her) have consistently made the absolute worst business decisions with regards to his channel. It genuinely makes me kind of MATI. It goes back to the Anissa OnlyFans video. If Ian had just ignored it or said something dismissive he wouldn't have been laughed at nearly as much as he was. Instead he made a video talking about how he wants people to masturbate to her where he seethes with so much impotent rage his face turns red. Full Force was really good. Ian could have just stuck with documentaries like that, but instead he decided to do the Sam Hyde documentary, making a complete ass of himself and propelling Sam back to relevancy. He could have just allowed Froggy Fresh to come to CC2, but he didn’t, and he released a video seething and lying about the situation, which caused the event to fail. (Noticing a pattern?) He could have just not apologized for his content in the way he did and kept moving forward, but he did, in the process making his content completely aimless for like 2 years. He could’ve just not chased the political / breadtuber grift, and he wouldn’t have politicized his content and nuked interest outside of his bubble. But he didn’t. He could have just stopped publically being friends with Froggy Tonic, not gotten involved in this H3/Hasan shit, and just moved on. But he didn’t. He burned the bridge with his most loyal supporter to become a cold, distant moon in Hasan’s orbit. Most of Ian’s old fans watched him in 2016, maybe watched Full Force, heard he made an apology video, and now they’re clicking on the new ‘content cop’ only to find an hour of impotent, nasally seething over high school drama that nobody cares about, predicated on people from LA harassing each other over an ethnic conflict literally on the other side of the world where the only ‘jokes’ are Sabra Humus and millennial humor shit about Fortnite dancing.
I’m sorry for the essay post, but sometimes this shit just baffles me. I have no idea how 2 human beings can continuously make the wrong decisions over and over and over again. It’s like they’re trying to see how far they can push this before completely melting down.
