Goldeneye was revolutionary in 1998, lord knows me and my friends played it a ton, I went and played it on my pc via emulator a few years ago, and it wasn’t good. The graphics are bad, and the AI is retarded I gave up after a few stages. Now donkey Kong country is still a great game from the SNES days, same with the sequel the third is kind of wonky but all three have aged great I ended up completing them all.

scorching hot take: mario 64 was revolutionary in terms of gameplay for obvious reasons (and still had flaws, namely the fucking camera) but from an artistic perspective it was garbage. the setting is retarded and makes no sense (dozens of magic teleporting portraits in peachs castle?), the enemy designs are mostly dumb and uninspired, it feels crude and is in fact badly dated. the subsequent 3d mario games (sunshine, galaxy) were infinitely better
