The Cardinals have the funniest opportunity to elect Cardinal Sarah, its a longshot but it would leave Progressives celebrating for maybe 5 mins because they elected a black guy before they realize hes a part of the most Conservative end of the Church
Anyone remember GWAR's various references to black pope?

I don't think it's going to be Tagle. He's too young which means he will probably be pope for a long time and I suspect that people want to calm things down after Francis. He was a great pope but his papacy was kinda chaotic. Tagle is like Francis 2.0 and I don't think there is the appetite for that.

Ouellet and Scola are too old. While I doubt the cardinals want another decade long papacy, they also don't want to be back in Rome in the next couple of years for another conclave. Eijk is from the Netherlands which is not a Catholic country and is largely atheist so I don't think he'd get it. Erdo is Hungarian and I doubt the conclave would want someone who is so tied up in Hungarian politics that it fucks over any positive relationship with the EU.

Anyone who says Marx has a shot is a retard. The Germans are a laughing stock and Marx is far too radical. Everything Alex Jones and co. said about Francis probably applies to Marx but this time it's actually true. If Marx is elected I think we owe the Orthobros an apology. Thank God it won't happen though.

Burke has kicked up too much of a storm and is seen as too much of a rabble rouser. Electing him would be a giant middle finger to Francis so I doubt that will happen. Plus Trump which I think guts any chance of an American being elected this time around since they don't want to play Russian roulette with which part of American society they will totally isolate.

Originally I thought maybe Dolan would be a serious contender but the more I thought about it he is more useful as a go between with the American media, someone doctrinaire but also able to get on Fox or CNN and represent the Church in a positive light. Plus he is tied to Trump. Maybe he gets elected if they want someone who can deal with Trump but given how small of a concern the U.S. is to the Church and how Trump will probably leave office in the next four years I doubt they're going to elect Dolan just so he can tard wrangle Trump.

Barron, while not a cardinal, also was thought up of as a wildcard but I don't think the Church is ready for someone that in touch with the youth and he is too young as well as not a cardinal. I would watch him in the next conclave though since I think he will eventually be papabile. Either he becomes pope at the next conclave or he just becomes our century's Fulton Sheen.

Now, the other Italians do have a decent shot in the sense that they're kinda the establishment of the Church. They're like the default mode. So if no one gets the necessary vote they'll probably back an Italian just to break the deadlock.

In which case it's probably Parolin. As I said, there's likely no appetite for Francis 2.0 at this point so Zuppi is out. Parolin is, while a bit young, someone that can likely get the votes even if few have him as their first pick. If the conclave drags on then I think that's a sign he will be elected. He'd probably be seen much as Ven. Pius II, given he holds the same position Pius did and is Italian as well as seemingly flying under the radar. A Church which elects him is signaling that they think the geopolitical situation is unstable.

Everyone has been going on and on about how the future of the Church is not in Europe but in Africa because Europeans by and large have become insufferable atheistic faggots. They need to shift towards that future and electing a European doesn't do that. Electing an African does, or at the very least shows that they're serious about it. I think that the next pope will be African.

Besungu is too young. Hell, he's even younger than Tagle. I don't think anyone wants to make such a long term commitment. Plus there was that audio recording from a year ago about where he just trashes the West, calling us decadent and wishing us a "good demise" since we weren't having kids. Article here. Despite him probably being right, that statement will alienate him from a lot of people. It's too on the nose.

This really leaves us with either Sarah or Turkson. I don't know much about Turkson but based off my preliminary research he seems alright. He certainly is no Marx and he seems to have a clean profile unlike Besungu who at this rate might as well set up an account here. Turkson seems like Sarah lite, he's an African conservative who won't rock the boat. But from what I can tell, he hasn't written much.

Sarah is old, but not too old. If I remember correctly he is only slightly older than Francis was when he was elected but then again I don't think anyone expected Francis to hold on for as long as he did. So electing him means they aren't back in Rome in 2028 but they also don't have to wait until 2045 for the next conclave. Sarah is also well known. Everyone knows him or at least who he is. I remember hearing Barron on Fox saying that one of the things he is confident about is that the cardinals don't really know each other, but everyone knows Sarah already. He has written a lot so people know what to expect from a Sarah papacy. He hasn't kicked up as much of a storm as Burke which makes him the favorite of the conservatives. Few people want Burke and those that do don't think he can win. Sarah hasn't made any major blunders like Besungu and yet he is able to say more or less the same things but with tact.

I know that this post is a bit of a mess in terms of organization but the point I am trying to make is that we will probably get Sarah. Turkson and Parolin are dark horses. At the end of the day though, God only knows which is why I voted Chris Chan.

if we do it would be funny, the Catholic Church at least as far as the United States goes has the opposite problem from a lot of Protestants, the younger end of the Church is more conservative than the older Catholics, who are often post-Vatican II Boomers, the Tradcath Zoomers you see on Twitter will be thrilled with the choice, while the Atheist woketards will be initially happy that the Throne of St.Peter is finally occupied by a Black guy but then go in full melt-down mode when he actually starts talking, they don't read into shit so it would be shocking

Sarah is a genuinely good pick. Sure, it will be keno but that's not my main concern. It's just icing on the cake.

And about 10 minutes before the traditionalist realise he is going to keep all those niggerpriests who like to rape those white women around in places like Germany, America, France etc.

Just elect the complete globalist faggot already, its going to be more of that anyway so why bother wasting peoples times.

The fuck is wrong with you? How dare you speak of upstanding priests like that just because of their skin color!

"Cardinal Marx", ain't it pottery?

Heaven help us, ANYONE but the Krauts.

Some of these guys are old as fuck. Imagine being 82 and you're suddenly pope. The next stream of white smoke will be riding on your heals.

I recall Turkson was considered among the bookies' favourites last time. I don't think the bookies really know anything.

Though I don't really know what goes on in the minds of the cardinals of the Roman Church either, especially given how many of the make-up of the college has shifted since Francis was elected. Nevertheless, I came to much the same conclusion as @Justice Tony though I consider Parolin a little more likely of a possibility. I'm conflicted about whether he or Sarah is my favourite to get the nod. Turkson I'd have third. I'm also not discounting Eijk, who seems like the safest 'conservative' option that is neither tied to Francis directly, nor represents the shift away from Europe.

Not another Hispanic pope!

I'm going for whatever choice confuses and pisses off the most people, so I would pick that conservative African cardinal people were memeing about years ago. The last good one was probably John Paul II and it's unfortunate Benedict XVI got kicked out for some reason.
