i think youre being pretty uncharitable thoughbeit, his explanation as to why he would implement the systems in question makes sense to me. One would assume letting a computer do most of the heavy lifting would allow for staff attention to be funneled elsewhere and would prevent oversaturation. Sure the image approval works on this small scale but unless you're expecting the sharty to stay the size it is forever or get smaller its not a permanent solution.

The reason why datamining is useful when "media approval works" is because media approval needs human interaction which is SLOW and SCARCE, however computers can do the heavy lifting faster and they dont complain when you rape them. So if the computer can do the humans job, that means the human can actually sort through threads and moderate to increase the quality of the board, instead of spending all their time approving and denying hanging troonjaks and the occasional child porn.
