The Elder Scrolls

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
2 Hour summary.

After my initial crashed and performance issues because I have an ayyyymd GPU (resolved, had to remove my overclock and lock frames at 120fps), the game runs and looks great (high settings constant 80 fps outdoors, 120 indoors). The new combat animations feel satisfying as fuck.

Doesn't look or feel like UE5 slop, you can feel that it's quite literally just oblivion running underneath a graphical skinsuit.

The UI redesign keeps the original aesthetic but adds some more functionality, feels good.

For the guy that asked about console, it's still in and all the commands function. Game has FOV options in the menu but you can do a console override as well, resurrect NPC's, delete NPC's, player.additem, unlock doors, etc

Anyone got any other questions to look into?
What do the zombies look like and have any monsters or enemies had any interesting design changes?

I caught a glimpse from a stream, but are the Dremora seriously just reskinned humans and not these fucked up, Darth Maul ahh things?

I tried turning on frame gen for my Nvidia GPU, and it caused my pc to reset itself.
11/9 it just works™️

Edit: I think I broke it, as it’s been just counting up now. I fixed it by resetting the settings; I wouldn’t recommend running frame gen, at least on a laptop RTX 4090.

Not really any design changes in the monsters that I've come across so far, just higher fidelity and some variation. Doesn't look bad at all, has none of that unreal engine 5 clay people slop. The armors/weapons all look amazing, added detail here and there or I just don't remember/never noticed the oblivion armors having this much detail, no more paddle swords and foam axes.

Another thing on point, the sound design is impeccable, very immersive.

UI doesn't feel bad at all, leagues above the modern gray box cod minimalist dogshit we get. It's like a mix of skyrim/oblivion UI + all the good bits from the UI mods for both games.

The whole thing is honestly a lot less bad looking than I was expecting. I’ll buy it eventually, it’s will be pretty novel to play oblivion with modern graphics.

My only question is, what’s new? Anything? Any new quests, armors, weapons?

It’s always so disappointing that Bethesda will release Skyrim 500000 times but not ever put the 1% effort in to add cut content or just new shit.

Might get it if it's not UE5 slop. I missed out on Oblivion because I was a poorfag and didn't have a way to play it.
