That would require these modders to become game developers, which most are unlikely to do because of other commitments. I agree with you in principle, but realistically it's not going to happen.I just think it's more worthwhile to create something new.
The devs should be pandering the kind of people that look for these mods, since we are their paying costumers.
You can visit the thread for the mod and read through the justifications and thought process behind all the changes changes. There's plenty of examples where the mod author refused to make a change because she didn't feel it was justified. Since the modder is a woman of color (allegedly), the motivation is not to Sieg Heil, but to make a game that is more in line with the location and time period the game draws inspiration from (as in, medieval Europe).Though the aforementioned blatant and proud racism/anti-kikery does make me worry that their creations might end up being more propagandistic in nature. I guess so long as they aren't cringe about their ideology then it's not a big deal.
If the modders were infantile as leftists tend to be, they wouldn't have included non-White skin tones in the new mod focusing on character creation.
That hasn't been my take at all. Would it surprise you to know that New Vegas is highly praised on the HQ?And it seems increasingly like the right wing has come to view nuance as some kind of Frankfurt School mind poison the same way the left views nuance as a Nazi dogwhistle, so I worry about getting "woke game but in reverse". Like the variety of shitty vatnik RPGs that have come out of the slavlands.
I'd really like to see one of these right-wing games that lack nuance, since I have yet to find a single one.
As for vatnik RPGs, they're mostly liberal and left-leaning. OwlCat and CDPR are very woke. There's games like ATOM and the standalone expansion, but those are clearly not pushing a political agenda, and then there's the FO1/2 mods like Fallout of Nevada, Fallout 1.5 or Fallout Sonora, that are better written and made with more passion than anything official in the past decade.
From where I'm standing it seems the market is predominantly pandering to a nonexistent leftist audience to the detriment of everyone else, with a few rare cases of apolitical developers, and there's basically no right-wing devs around.
