Ruben lays it out in the post. Or rather, Discord did. The claim is that the bot profiles people based on 'protected characteristics'. So to explain what happened here.

This kind of knee-jerk behaviour where site/service admins don't contact the 'accused' of a takedown request to hear out both sides and just take the word of the person filing it needs to be completely eradicated.
If they had contacted Ruben Sim BEFORE banning the bot, he could have pointed out and even proven that the bot bans people specifically based on whether those people are in roblox porn discords and the fact that all the gay/trans users just happen to be in said roblox porn discords is incidental.

Maybe they're in on it and are afraid that their staff might get exposed for it. People take especially desperate measures when they're backed into a corner.

I doubt that Discord will just let you share a database of pedophiles either. They're likely to see that as collecting user data and therefore an invasion of privacy, and only they are allowed to invade their users' privacy. Just look at the legal threats they issued to spy.pet and dis.cool.

It's crazy how even the ones that are better at debating also get hung up on the question of "why do you NEED to have access to trans kids?"
They literally think allowing some 50 yo dude to chat up a confused 14 yo on discord is productive and a BASIC TRANNY RIGHT.

My theory is that porn addicts are unironically massive whales in the digital space, meanwhile most average people do not spend that much for digital goods. So companies are financially motivated to ignore these internet addicted perverts because they are big financial spenders. At this point these companies are managing something not that far from strip clubs. The difference is that at least in strip clubs there tends to be security to enforce a no touch rule, this is not something most of these platforms have.
