That you would sacrifice the prosperity of future generations of Americans over your vidya. It's like being a boomer but shallower.
There is no guarantee — or even a solid chance — of getting this "future prosperity." We are raising prices now while we have no domestic capability to replace the supply. If he had his heart set on the tariffs, why couldn’t he at least formulate a solid plan for re-shoring and wait until we had viable alternatives before going through with it? No one has ever told me why he couldn’t build the industrial base first — or at least start on it — then implement tariffs.
I know you wont actually respond but this is useful for the others here to argue with fags like you IRL. Trump has said his focus is on real things instead of an imaginary number. That means jobs, cars, and housing.
well here I am(rock me like a hurricane)
Trump is attacking this problem in a few ways. He is deporting illegals and ending their social security and welfare which makes the existing housing supply available. He is also making it less attractive for the Chinese to invest in American real estate. In addition his focus on bring jobs and manufacturing back to America increases the income of American workers and decreases the cost of building supplies. He also ordered a 25% increase in logging of national Forrest as fire prevention and to decrease cost of building supplies used for housing. This is having a measurable effect on housing prices already.
I am not going to do the leftist shtick of saying immigration has no effect on housing costs. It does, and that is one reason why I oppose large-scale immigration.
The Chinese investing in American housing was never a major issue in the U.S. — they mostly preferred Canada for that. Most Chinese land investment in the U.S. was commercial or agricultural.

First, he has no solid plan for bringing back manufacturing to America. If he wants to bring it back, he needs a comprehensive plan so investors have confidence and don’t just wait it out. The reason investors put up with China is because they know the CCP will always be in power, and they announce their plans decades in advance — up to 2050. Investors will just wait it out if there is no comprehensive plan that can survive Trump and be acted on by another GOP president — or even a Democrat. Trump has no incentive to push a plan like this because he won’t get the credit for it; he’ll be out of office before its effects are noticeable. The tariffs do increase the cost of building supplies, and having Americans harvest them inherently raises prices. Things like wiring and HVAC components especially will be hit hard, since some of the needed minerals just aren’t in large supply in America.
All that is before you even factor in this extra tariff money which is basically a blank check trump can spend as he wants. He is planning to remove income tax first which is a few thousand back to the likely housing purchasers in the coming years. I don't think he should use the rest directly on housing. It can be used as needed to offset the negative effects of tariffs and to accelerate construction of manufacturing in Estados Unidos.
Thisis the motte-and-bailey of the Trump tariff argument. He justifies it as bringing in extra money for the government, but then says he will remove or at least cut income and capital gains taxes — which are the government's biggest revenue streams. So the best-case scenario is that he breaks even on tariffs. Even that is unlikely, because with the tariffs in place, fewer countries and firms will export to America, and with the higher prices, Americans will buy fewer imported goods — meaning less tariff revenue. Essentially, if the "Made in America" dream ever comes to pass, government revenue will dry up. If Trump keeps spending like a nigger on the 1st, then that will mean more debt and more money printing — just like what happened last time.
