I played through Oblivion multiple times as a teenager. I loved every second of it and I'm quite nostalgic about the game and that period of my life.I do wonder who exactly the target audience is. I guess people who used to play Oblivion and are nostalgic for it aren't an insignificant amount but I have a hard time imagining the kind of Skyrim baby or even younger player who refused to play Oblivion all these years yet would have if it looked like a shitty unreal port. In other words I don't think "massive Oblivion fan excited to play it for the first time" was ever a thing unlike with some titles.
Yet, I feel oddly repulsed by this remake. It just doesn't feel right. It's kind of like when they re-release a book and the cover art is ass compared to the original, plus the size differs from all the other books you own. Sure, the content is more or less the same, but it feels out of place on the shelf.
I guess this is for younger players who refused to play Oblivion, because of the dated graphics.
