Considering his previous roles were CFO/CSO and he was president of King (an Activision subsidiary) this reads like they're trying to get a proper "executive" in the role.
The now ex-CEO Jason Citron is a creative/ideas guy, so they're getting in a "serious businessman" to butter up the company's prospects for an IPO. Jason Citron simply isn't a business man whereas the new guy is. It may also be that they want someone in place for when the IPO happens to really start ramping up revenue streams - so expect Discord to become way shittier than it already is.

Read: this move has nothing to do with the bot being banned or any legal actions happening. It's somewhat similar to how LinusTechTips brought in a proper CEO and Linus stepped back into a creative role. This was probably planned a while ago.

When I do some research, I cannot find anything about him being Jewish. The name "Sakhnini" is most prevalent in the western part of the Middle East—Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, etc. But it seems to be a Muslim name, not a Jewish one. It's Arabic, apparently.

Wrahng. But I don't even know who the true winner/loser here is because I think we should all want the worst CEO possible for Discord to properly drive it into the ground. A pajeet would be great at that, almost second to none - but they've chosen a fucking ex-Activision chairman... that has to be a worse choice.

They may have actually managed to find a rare pick of someone who will actually do an objectively worse job than any pajeet would and piss off all the furfag users and everyone else with cashgrab monetization and dumb shit and totally crater Discord in less than a year.
This is going to be great, it'll be way more entertaining than a pajeet CEO... It means the board of directors literally want to monetize the fuck out of Discord with bullshit microtransactions and are putting what is basically a FAANG insider in charge of it who previously managed a company that created Candy Crush games. Just wait until they start stealing bot creators ideas and all the other potential golden opportunities that could happen and completely burn Discord to a crisp through sheer badwill.
I predict in 2026 that DSP will get addicted to Discord gacha games. There's so many entertaining possibilities here.
