It feels weird reading people getting sentimental about a social media site of all things.
I'm not gonna pretend I was an oldfag or such, I can understand missing some of the good parts, but I quickly jumped ship from 4chan when I just couldn't tolerate the site quality anymore.
I can understand, I frequented the site a lot on late 2013 and throughout 2014-2015 and I remember well the slow decay of the culture and boards, specially /b/ after it slowly became a porn dump board.

I don't care about the red boards* and the constant rage baiting that goes with them, I just want my /fit/ and blue board generals back.

*Exception is FAFO webm threads, those are fun.

I hate seeing other people jump so quickly to going back. They’re axewound whipped by the woke Janny Tranny mindvirus that makes you addicted to ragebait.
Give me hats, I’m mad! Mad at the internet!
I've substituted Kiwi for 4chan in the downtime but the dynamic of the board is different. 4chan had a very simplistic interface and it was easier to read replies to bait posts/jews. It's just a whole different experience. This site isn't bad but I'm not a big fan of the pagination. Not knocking kiwi it's just personal preference really. Plus there's the whole "anon" thing no avatars no accounts which ads a different dynamic from many other boards/social media.

You clearly do not have elder family. Boomers freak out when their children or grandchildren delete any social media and act like you are taking away part of their life. Its crazy how much the brain rot got to them.

IIRC there was a school shooter who had an account here but didn't post anything relating to shooting up school and stuff, and I think we eventually knew it was his account because his mother logged in to confirm it herself.
You mean this guy. His account was still up around the time a Youtuber did a pretty good video on him last year

It's not so much the site itself, but what it represented. Or what we thought it represented, anyway.
Facebook, Reddit, X, etc are all curated as fuck. There are very specific lines of thought that the users were being herded into, and anything outside of those lines of thought were shadowbanned, suppressed, and removed.
4chan was a free-for-all. You had to dig through a lot of really awful fucking shit, but you could still find pearls of wisdom on the site that lay completely outside of the mainstream consensus. That's gone now, and it won't be coming back.

Now we're learning just how fucked the moderation of 4chan truly was. In truth it was just as bad as the other social media giants, and we were fooled into believing it was different. The mask is off now. The genie is out of the bottle. The consequences will never be the same.

I never visited red boards. The ragebait is a problem on blue boards too. Literally just look at /v/.

I liked 8moe for thread accountability but I understand that we’re all fried on dopamine from having almost instantanoius replies since it also happened to me.

KF have a low threshold of patience for baitposting and jewposting outside of A&N and plagued threads to begin with.
I also wish you could see replies to something easier here . But i think it reduces "slapfighting"
And you will get better disciplined. or. alarm chucks lobbed at your head if you were too lazy to catch up on the thread before replying.

@BunchaBabyDucks i turned off nearly all sticker notifications and only get an alert if someone quotes or directly replies to solve the whole dopamine frying connundrum.. its in your KF preferences.
ill just follow the whole entire thread if its fun or i care whats being said. [edit: and instead of doubleposting, i love the stickers and use them too. i just choose to be notified by actual engagement , not fake engagement.}

It's even more weird to read people who think that anonymous users are their friends.
They are very lonely.

I like handing out stickers, they’re silly. I don’t care enough to turn the notifs off since Null plans on doing that eventually.

cant remember which anon it was that had gone off on an unaliving spree of themselves and/or others at this point.
but someone on /pol/ remarked something like "we were his only friends and we hated him too"

that was a throatpunch and it was the day i realized : be friendly , but youre not among friends

I quickly turned that shit off when I made this account, I don't understand how people use this site with sticker notifications shitting up the inbox. Just check the reactions received panel occasionally if you care about stickers that much.
