I really do not understand how anyone would think putting rape into Star Wars is a good idea.
The entire idea of the franchise is "fairy tale story in space".
It is always a white and black scenario of Good vs. Evil, without ever showing the "explicit" evil beyond the conceptual.
The Empire is an oppressive Dictatorship that enslaves natives (i.e. Wookies), eradicates primitive natives (i.e. Ewoks) and actively hunts the "white knights" (Jedi Order). Luke is the son of the Chosen One, who decides to kill his evil master to save his son.
It is all a very clichê story with the roguish character who overcomes his greed and turns to the good side and gets the princess.
Every single novel I read (and I read a lot of them) has stayed very tightly in the lanes of implied evil end cruelty without ever actually showing or describing it as part of the story. Even the Death Star firing and destroying Alderaan only gives you the idea of "Billions of Dead", but you don't see actual suffering.
When I saw the Special Edition in the cinema Episode IV and V were rated Age 6+ in Germany and only Episode VI was rated age 12+.
Putting rape in will get your series/movie rated at 16+ very quickly. Adult themed, sexual violence is not children movie material.
Fuck Alyssa for defending that.
