General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

These google docs and whore slap-fights are fun and all, but cmon man. Couldn't these women have waited until the end of the month before they started throwing's hands? I mean wouldn't you want to attack at a time when it would deal the most damage?
There is all this content flooding in due of the graduations, I can't be bothered to read all these docs searching for the lol parts.
Speaking of content:
A fanproject and a send-off to moom
For some reason it reminded me her old pre-debut hopium video.
There was also the last gura kronii collab
Timestamped a moment at the end where they reminisce over some old powerwash stream, which I found entertaining.
If anything this is great timing because it shows an ugly side of the twitch clique that keeps virtue signaling about being better and less unfair to streamers than the meanie old jap corpos. Join a jap corpo, get fucked over by shitty management, join a clique/twitch streamer group, some high clout bitch tries to snake your artist into not working for anyone but her anymore

I maintain the best thing to do is join a corpo, pick up the connections that actually give a shit and are professional, and then use them when you go independent.

That is pretty much the Doki and Mint way. And id agree, but you have to be a very beloved and actually seemingly geniuenly good person to do it, which i doubt 90% of the industry can do at this point

I've been wondering about something lately. If talents started doing this en masse, would the corpos pick up on it and introduce a clause in their contracts that basically say "You cannot stream as an indie vtuber for X amount of time should you graduate"? Would that even be possible to enforce?

I bet you they know and already do.

Practically every Ex Holo Talent used their Holo Artist after all.

Why do you think there is always a period of a few months between graduating and going indie?

I don’t think the corpos care that much just ‘give character time for fans to accept gone and don’t start on making new model etc until after you’re gone’ seems to be all they care about.

Fauna/Nimi graduated on Jan 3rd and started streaming with a Chibi L2D model on the 17th of the same month

Dooby/Ame went affiliate on the 30th of Sep and came back with a full 3d model on the 13th of October, so Holo either has a very low amount of time for such a clause, its different for affiliates, or simply dont have one. They even allow current talents to still do L2D or 3D streams on alts, Kson did use her Koikatsu Kumichu model while still being Coco iirc.
Its rumored that Niji did or does have a noncompete clause, Nina/Matara graduated July 7th of 2023 and returned Oct 15th, her public reveal was on Oct 8th, 3 months after that date. But its pure conjecture

Those sort of clauses can get expensive depending on jurisdiction. Worst could be in essence paying same rate, but not getting any content or income.

I’d assume they allow work on new stuff when Graduation is announced. Just I think there is absolutely a rule of ‘no working on non Holo stuff until ink is dry’ as it were. But yes, Holo is very lax. So I expect they don’t care that much. I’d assume it is something they have written down just in case.

Reminder that Fauna came back within like a week, and we know from not-magni that she was setting up well in advance for it (he said he had about a month to work on the lore video he made for her)

I don't think there's a contract or clause preventing a quick turnaround so much as it just comes down to whether or not the talent planned in advance for it (as Fauna/Nimi did) and whether or not they just want to take an actual break for a while before coming back.

Holo's never been restrictive of roomate work and many talents keep active even while they are at Holo. Talents like Mori and Azki who are known as heavily music focused holos, still release music on their old accounts. If any sort of non compete clause existed they would not be able to do shit like this.

Got a link to that?
it's got chink subs but it was fuck it he's speaking English and it doesn't matter

Actually well shit it looks like the chink clip cut out the time estimate and just put it as a popup on screen. If you want to hear him say it himself here, timestamped in another clip talking about how it was about 4 weeks of work to produce.
(skip to 7:20 if the timestamp doesn't work)

see now this I could kind of see more reasonably, I don't think either corpo really worries about talents going Indie, indies aren't their competition. But now Yamiyono Moruru graduating and then 6 months later showing up as Hololive's Himemori Luna......... that might be something they got pissy about.

But yeah even then I don't think it actually exists.

The malding never ends. The world is crashing down around this woman and the only thing these people can think about is LE HECKING RIGHT WING GRIFTORINOS who have nothing to do with any of this (and that aren't even grifters by the very definition of that word)

At this point I wouldn't put it past the artist who leaked this to be some woke mess that just wants to try and get Kirsche out of Gamersupps by dragging an owner in the mud a bit.
This is too retarded all around.

just a minor thing but to my knowledge Nano is a woman, doesn't do much where she's speaking, her art streams are usually silent with her model just present while she works or speedpaint videos with music over them, but she's popped up around before on streams where she speaks.

Wouldn't be surprised because any man who would google doc over something like this would look like idubbbz in real life.

4th so far
EDIT: never mind, a 5th one has come out
this one is specifically about sinder's "manager" red
People really need to stop making their boyfriends their managers.

If I remember right Sinder was due for a fansly debut sometime soon, would explain the timing to start the whorocaust when it hurts.
The only people who will get upset over this artist shit are the other vtuber's simps and women.
Men do not care about this contract drama on any meaningful level. IF they wanted to go for her throat they needed a boyfriend leak.

This is a non compete contract which the US is currently trying to make / keep illegal. I would encourage anyone who is a contracted employee, without a stable salary, healthcare, and a 401k to never ever sign a non compete contract. That's a death wish. In the US they're trying to make it unenforceable if you make under like 150k a year too. Most noncompetes tend to be for a year or 2 so it is devastating.

This is what they do. Its journo libshit 101. They have their friends write a hit piece that is flimsy hearsay, and then other journos or people start posting it around like it's a factual truth. They just keep spiraling bad articles based off a bad faulty source and treat it like its the bible.

Want to know the funny part? Both Sinder and Kirsche are part of Mythic, which is run by Asmongold.

I was on Kickstarter and decided to search "Vtuber" to see if anybody was trying to crowdfund a model or something but instead I found this. Some Mexican is making a VN where you romance and fuck a vtuber. I'll let the description speak for itself:
